What Kind of Nerdfighter Are You?
A fairly inconsistant one
About Me:
Yoooooo,

I've been here a while but I'm starting over on this site, beginning fresh, with the exception of whatever friendships I manage to salvage after a solid six months of internet silence. This will likely be few. Sorry, guys.

Me, in one sentence:
If I had a great, powerful and inspiring book that would periodically burst out into my favorite Death Cab songs, while simultaneously making me a grilled cheese sandwich, I would never leave my house.
Ever.

I love music, writing and reading, and I've recently taken a great liking to both bike riding and Cat Stevens, though I've learned the hard way that if you try and combine the two you end up crashing onto someones front lawn, cut just barely short of the last line of "If You Want to Sing Out, Sing Out" and then you get grass stains on your new Levi's.

I think I'm funny sometimes. Serious others. Sometimes I'm too dramatic, other times I'm not dramatic enough. But hopefully you'll forgive, as I can only do my best at all times, and that's always what I'm doing. Unless I'm doing homework.
Or riding a bike while listening to Cat Stevens.

URGENT NOTICE: I will be gone for a good 6 weeks of the summer, so my long long break from Nerdfighteria will continue for just a little while longer!
Favorite Books, Movies, Music, and more
Looking for Alaska, the Time Travelers Wife, Catcher in the Rye, Mother Night
What's your favorite thing to put on your head?
Shampoo. Next to that? Bike helmet.
If you could do your happy dance with anyone who would it be with?
Holden Caulfield. I've always wanted to own him on the dancefloor.
When did you start watching B20
2008
Music that I could not be myself without
VVV

Your Result: Literature Nerd

Does sitting by a nice cozy fire, with a cup of hot tea/chocolate, and a book you can read for hours even when your eyes grow red and dry and you look sort of scary sitting there with your insomniac appearance? Then you fit this category perfectly! You love the power of the written word and it's eloquence; and you may like to read/write poetry or novels. You contribute to the smart people of today's society, however you can probably be overly-critical of works. It's okay. I understand.

You Are the Moments You Make

(If I were in love...sigh)

You’re confusing and warm and your breath always smells of alcohol and stale pride
You live a blue-collar rendition of life, you boast jokingly about your scars
And when you pat me on the head and smile with knowing eyes
I think of height and age and distance, how I could count your miles on my fingertips
And how there will be so many more when you’ve left me for the world.

I’ve been with you out in the fields at night,
I know the sound of your sneakers on the mornin… Continue

When I bury my memories, it's a life of my own that will grow

Isn't it quiet after a breakdown...?
I love it, like a morning after a snowstorm
But it's better
In this season I can see hope drying on the clotheslines from my window,
God that's beautiful, even as the sun bleaches it white
You're not quite there yet
But I feel like I can see you anyways
You would climb the poles, tear them down, and set them ablaze
You always said hope was for the weak
And I always laughed because you were the most hopeful person I knew....

It's a lazy saturday morning this… Continue

Stridebreaker

And it's that damned smile that breaks my pace
I laugh a bitter storm from one cheek to the other
It's pretty for a scar, boundary breaking for an open wound
Like lightning across a sunflower field,
it's prettiest in the moment, but the end result...
That's the truth about my fears and your perfections.
I saw the world bearing its teeth the other day,
But today I walked by and patted its head and it smiled
But not like yours
Its smile told me I still had miles and years to tear at me
Your smile… Continue

My Fisherman's Youth

(Warning: Not my best work.)

“it’s cold”
I said, with my toes just barely dangling in the air.
I thought of how I could simply fall through and never come back, but it wasn’t really a possibility; only a thought.

I sat with my fishing pole in my hands;
It was still new, and made with bits and pieces of self-confidence.
I used it to catch fleeting glances off people in the streets, and draw out the truth between the letters that made up everyday lies.

On my ship I was always teetering on the e… Continue

To My Deus Ex Machina

NOTE: My poems generally don't follow any normal format, so it doesn't rhyme and when I wrote it it wasn't even in verse...But hey, poetry is poetry.

I call it "Limbo"
when people ask me where I am.
buried in between train routes on a platform that never was; that's where I am.
and when people ask me who I am, I smile and tell them it's for them to decide.

I'm waiting for you, set to arrive on a train called "eureka"
with a book under your arm, and a smile on your featureless face.
I feel like… Continue

Thanks for introducing me to my new favorite quote! "I'm not living, I'm just killing time." It just about sums up my thoughts exactly.

holden would own you anytime, any dance floor. disco? no problem. tango? bring it on. waltz? you must be joking.

life only feels like you're killing time if you think that way, though I think similarly, so that's a bad conversation starter.

Also, did you like Mother Night?
