Oh my God. So, there was this guy, named Robert Clive, he was head of the British armed forces in India in in the 1750s, and he became a hero for winning the battle of Plassey and taking over Bengal, which was one of India's richest provinces. He had a pet tortoise, who stayed in India after he left. The tortoise died in 2006, at the age of 255. Also, Robert Clive became an opium addict later in life. I just find this really funny (not the last bit, that is quite sad).
