""The truth never hurts. If it hurts, it's not the whole truth." Often people will attempt to justify hurtful speech with the rejoiner, "Truth hurts." It actually doesn't if it's the whole truth. It might not be…"

Sean (the local time traveler) replied to Joshua Perry's discussion How would you define a classic?
"Personally I would describe a classic as a book that has a strong message that has the ability to go against the sands of time. For instance The Great Gatsby, 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, To Kill A Mocking Bird etc. All of these books have very…"

Annie Stargaryen replied to Joshua Perry's discussion How would you define a classic?
"I would define a classic as a book that has stood the test of time. A book that is still read decades or centuries after its release. It should also be a book that really makes you think, or at least has a very compelling story. (However, not all…"

"Most "classics" tend to be literary fiction. If it left it's mark most heavily in a specific genre more than the category of literary fiction, it would be a classic of that genre. Lord of the Rings isn't always a…"

Profile Information

What Kind of Nerdfighter Are You?
No idea!
About Me:
Well, I'm 15, read a lot, listen to a lot of music, and study a fair deal. I speak English and I have a basic command of German (enough to let me live there for a while... But not really have a social life!) My house has been taken over by animals; we have three cats, a dog, a snake, and three gerbils sharing the house with us.
Favorite Books, Movies, Music, and more
I adore the Inkheart series, and I read a lot by James Patterson, Sidney Sheldon, and Stephen King. I'm currently working my way through the classics (currently reading Pride and Prejudice).

I love old rock and metal, like Meat Loaf, Iron Maiden, Skid Row, and Rush. Although, to be honest, I'll listen to anything as long as the vocals are good and there is at least one interesting guitar riff.

I'm not big on films, but I'm getting into films more than I used to be! I like watching superhero movies, like the X-Men movies and the Batman series. My favorite movies, however, are The Rocky Horror Picture Show, the Back To The Future films, and The Neverending Story.
What's your favorite thing to put on your head?
I've not put anything on my head since I was ten, so I don't know :P
If you could do your happy dance with anyone who would it be with?
Neil DeGrasse Tyson and Brian Cox!
When did you start watching the Vlogbrothers?
October, 2012
Make up your own DFTBA initialism!
