If you are familiar with George Orwell's dystopian novel, 1984, you will know what I am talking about. For those of you who aren't familiar, I can only explain newspeak as being a Government-party…Continue

"I kind of lean toward agreeing, but more in the sense that I think the media has created a false image of what a "normal" romantic life is like. Most people, at least from my experience/observation, just do not date all that much.…"

""Text talk" is a reversed form of newspeak. Where newspeak was a language that arose to limiting the thought process, text talk is a way of communication that arose because of a limited thought process :P"

The Smiths are fantastic! If you're talking landmark sorta bands (not so much recent stuff) I adore The Beatles, The Kinks, The Clash, Clapton, The Stone Roses, Blur, Pulp, Radiohead . . . that sorta stuff (that said I do love The Pixies, Pavement, Velvet Underground, Ramones, a bit of Dylan now and then) I mean, I'm able to talk about pivotal American bands and know of a few up-and-comers but I watch the English alt/indie scene pretty closely and know much more about what's going on over there.

So I just had a completely-non-creepy profile stalk with regards to music and that's a pretty interesting mix you've got there! I'm more of an anglophile when it comes to music :) How are you with literature?
