As for movies, sci-fi is always a staple of mine, but political thrillers are my main sustenance, as well as gritty combat flicks (Taken, for instance). Now, anything by Joss Whedon is good, that's a fact, though I was never entranced by Buffy *shrug* I guess I was too engrossed in SG1 and B5 :p

Well, there's The Proteus Operation, Heinlein's classics, but they're usually for reference material. I'm more into alt history (the former being a good example), and sci-fi reworkings of fantasy elements. What I'd really like to do is write one of my own :/ Still working on it though.
