Mari replied to Khail's discussion A question of honor? in the group Feminist Nerdfighters
"The key phrase (for me) is "I like". You like to do it. You don't have to, you're not obligated to...it is not forced upon you. Will you meet women who don't appreciate that? Absolutely. Are there women who look for doors to…"

The draft?

Equal opportunity is most definitely a worthy and right goal for women all over the world, but if you would allow me to reign it into the USA.  Does equal opportunity mean equal responsibility?  What I mean is civic responsibility.       What I plainly mean is the military, specifically the draft.  As a fella I had to register for that sort of thing when I turned 18.  Not something I resented as most men have to do this at that age.  And I'm not peeved that women don't have to, but I am…See More

Woah

I bet I'm not the first person to make the remark of "Oh wow, I can type here too?  Teeheehee!"

On Humor

Here is a joke that's supposed to be funny to nearly everyone.  Maybe I'm a little outdated on my universal humor, but here it is.  You may have heard it before:

~

A cop gets a 911 emergency phone call from a man-

Man: Help!  I found him here!  I think he's dead!

Cop: Slow down slow down!  Check if he really is first!

Man: Alright

(Too loud gunshots ring out over the phone)

Man:  Yep, he's…

On Humanity

That drink you're holding there.  Yes, the mountain dew, or whatever it is you're drinking.  Is it human?  Psh, no of course not, it's a mix of various artificial flavors with sugar and other odd ingredients!  What about when you drink it?  The beverage is now inside you, but it's just mountain dew inside a "human" stomach right?  Ok...

Slowly, some of the sugar (a basic carbohydrate, I believe, but I'm no dietician) is absorbed into your blood stream and taken to…

On Happiness

What exactly is happiness?  This is one of those questions that I can't help but ask in a truly honest fashion.  We all have different things that make us happy, and what gets me is that a lot of them are opposite of each others.  I may be perfectly happy to be with people watching Star Wars, but I know some people who would be bored and looking for an excuse to leave (and I don't judge those people.  The stimulus (star wars and friends) that gets my neurotransmitters going and having…

Birthdays

I have a different personal blog.  I also have a comic blog (there's a link on my profile), but I have yet to have a nerdy blog.  Do I know what that means?  Of course not!  That would ruin the fun!

It's my birthday today (though there's a large chance that you're not reading it on my birthday).  There's a small philosophical quandary in my head about birthdays, or rather ages.  So today I turn 19 (not much happens on the 19th birthday, but it's exciting anyway). Now what…
