Brendan Gallagher said… Hello :P
Long time no chat!
Hows Maynooth treating you? :)
Zachary Griner said… Ugh I know what you mean about singing and playing. It is still hard for me to get the rhythm down most times. Like everything else on the guitar, it is just practice practice practice and more practice >./p>
Funny you should say that... I have a friend that has an extra one lying around. I totally asked him, and he said I could. Just have to go out to his place to get it :) I like your thinking!
I am going to have to get my hands on those tunes for the freelance whales. They are awesome. Those country artists are a little different than mine. Maybe a little folky? Josh Turner is a little bouncy... Which adds to the enjoyment of his music. They are not all like that, but a fair bit are.
So what kind of stuff do you write? I write scripts and stuff, but nothing big :p
Zachary Griner said… Don't give up your attempts. That is how you get better :) Fast car would be a really fun one to learn!
I play guitar and sing subpar while playing :) I have found that slightly underwhelming vocals are usually made better with the addition of a guitar.I miss my guitar very much. My cousin might visit (and bring my guitar) or I may just break down and pick on up.
I had never heard of Freelance Whales. but I just looked them up. Funky and awesome :) Anything else epic like that???
I listen to tons of kinds of music. It ranges from acoustic, rock, classical, metal. Tons of different things. Before I moved here I learned a few Jack Johnson and other various country songs. One of my favorite to play was "why don't we just dance" by Josh Turner. That one is tons of fun!
Zachary Griner said… Yes mam :) between the vlogs, short films, and music video I hope to have a good life making films. Eh but we shall see.
I am over at DIT, and I actually graduate school back in the states in June. That means I can stay here and not go back :) I came here basically because I wanted to move away and live in other places around the world. I have been loving Ireland so far, and I will probably stay for a few years if not more.
I do enjoy Forbidden Planet's selection. Sub City is just an awesome small crowded local comic shop... I dig it a lot :)
So you play Guitar yes? What do you enjoy playing?
Zachary Griner said… Thanks :) I like the shirt a lot. It is really comfy. If you marched, you might have seen me running up/down the crowd while/and filming people :p
I moved from Florida to finish school. Film school to be exact. I will be graduating while I am here and staying for at least another year :)
So are there any places besides Sub City and Chapters a Nerdfighter would enjoy in Dublin ?
Jennie Rae Urban said… Hey you. So I was just doing some thinking (weird, eh?) and I have a friend who is looking at going to Ireland for school next year. I thought I should introduce you.
*poke*
How goes?
Jennifer Somers Walker said… o.O this is the longest comment ive gotten. YAY! :D
1pm. thats nice. youd start school after my school ended (but thatd only be for today, and todays a short day). but still...lucky. *9*? thats more then I get on a GOOD night! :o
oh...Ive heard of that. didnt recognize the line though. YAY PRETTY FLOWERS! :D that was funny...yeah, now i know what it is I can agree. but I do like the description...Emily Dickinson is great! :) I like her - shes one of my favorites. I also like Robert Frost "two roads diverge in a yellow wood, and I...i took the one less traveled by and that has made all the distance." I hope I quoted that correctly. I didnt look it up. Theres someone else who has a poem I like...I want to say his name is Dylan Thomas...? *looks up* yay! I got it right! This is the poem. Ive never read william butler yeats' poems though. or keats. I shall look them up...after I write my essays or something like that.
classification essay. Its boring, dont worry about looking it up. Its basically taking one group (like "friends"), dividing it into subgroups (the distant friend, the best friend, the "friend") and then talking about those subgroups and creating a purpose for talking about it. bleh. meh. yeh.
I'm in a course called HCMW (Historical Civilizations and the Modern World), and right now were learning about islamic empires. before, we learned about ming/qing china and before that we learned about the atlantic slave trade. fun! :) It is actually interesting. I dont know much about wars though.
The Mugal empire, the Ottoman empire, and the Safavid empire are all islamic empires. Theyve all fallen (although the ottoman empire fell somewhat recently - in 1923). It is interesting, but a lot to learn about. hows philosophy?
yeah - a couple. I do love my high school - I going to boarding school/prep school/whatever you want to call it. I live in a dorm. Its great! :) ahhh yes, american television. :P YES! I love harry potter. cool! so whats your hogwarts house then? ;P yeah. depending on the school, its true also. many schools are like that. luckily mine has a harassment policy, but I got bullied at in 3/4 grade. It wasnt bad compared to other stories, but still. but the answer is it depends where you go. some schools, its worse then glee. some schools its about the same. some schools its nicer.
Jennifer Somers Walker said… ouch. what time do you have to get up? Its 9:11 pm now, and while its not late, it will be. I cant focus. I've taken focusing meds and I still cant focus. They're evil, those essays. EVIL!
I havent read it yet. I will - I like nice poems. and funny poems. whats your favorite kind, or do you just not like them in general? And that sucks about getting sick of it. :/ haha, a million times will do that to you! :/ yeah. novels are good, and poetrys good as long as your not analyzing it. I hate analyzing poetry.
English: we have to write a classificaion essay. any topic. but it has to be a classification essay. for history, I'm using a mixture of a text book and primary sources to answer Whether the mugal/ottoman/safavid empire (choose one) was an islamic empire, or an empire that just so happened to be islam. I think im going to do ottoman. I havent even started on my history one. :/ Sophmore - yay! you got it right! :D Im so uninformed about other educational systems...good job for knowing the us one. :P
