This is an awesome idea. 200 Peeps is not healthy, even for someone made of so much awesome. Save John from the sugar!

Where, Oh Where Have Our Hank And John Gone?

They seem to be rather uninvolved in Nerdfighting recently. I don't think there's been a vlog in weeks, and the posts here have become scarce. Should I worry?

Hank, You Got Featured! By The Internet!

Hank's EcoGeek site is on the front page of Yahoo this morning! The article about how girls like guys with green cars rather than sports cars is featured on the front page of the featured articles. I just woke up, so eloquence is in short supply, sorry. I just had to say, CONGRATULATIONS, HANK! Nerdfighters will truly one day rule the world, one website at a time.

My Name, [Lindsey] Subtly Inked, Explained.

Ya know, in case anyone was wondering..

I thank the Nerdfighting community for my name. Why? Because it is an anagram. First off, my name is Lindsey. Simple enough. Next, "Subtly Inked" is the rest of my name anagrammed. I really like this name because it represents my personality. Subtly Inked sounds a bit...hard core, for lack of a better description. Inked, like a tattoo, but not necessarily. Subtly, like sneaky I guess. The thing is, I don't plan to ever get a tattoo. The fact that it's an… Continue

Okay, so this is kind of random, but are those glasses you're wearing in your profile picture glow-in-the-dark?

Because if so, I have the same ones. :D

I don't celebrate Christmas, but winter break has been just that...a break. I've got finals after vacation's over (damn you Ike) so I'm thinking about actually being productive again. all in all, it's been nice (:

Burning images into the data layer of a disc is called DiscT@2 ("Disc tattoo"). The idea was that if you had space left on your disc, you could fill the space that was left over with gibberish data, and burning the data on particular places so it would form pictures. You'd be able to write a title or a content table or something around your actual data. Much nicer (and more subtle) than using a messy marker to write something on the disc)
The idea was good, but disc manufacturers decided to make discs with a sensitive layer on top, so you could burn an image on the top of your disc.
DiskT@2 evolved into Labelflash, and Lightscribe entered the market too.
Lightscribe is leading the market now, because Labelflash only supports DVD's, whereas there are also Lightscribe CD's. (I believe Hank used Lightscribe to burn images on the CD's that he sold during NF gatherings)
Anyway, because Labelflash evolved from DiskT@2, labelflash compatible DVD-writers can do DiskT@2 too. The only downside is that there is very little software available. Nero 8 is the only program that can do DiskT@2, so I had to use the trial version to burn that particular DVD.
I could've used a special Labelflash DVD, but those are slightly more expensive (about $3 each, I think...), and I didn't have any.

Anyway, that's a very long explanation to say: I used a regular dvd, Nero 8 and my NEC ND-4571A DVD writer.
