What Kind of Nerdfighter Are You?
Book worm, Humanitarian, Nature Lover
About Me:
I only recently learned about Nerdfighters through a video post about marriage equality. I loved those videos & promptly started obsessively watching all the other vlogbrother videos. I can't belive I've been missing out for so long! My husband & I are now big fans & set aside whole blocks of time to watch the old videos.

The quick overview about me:

I'm happily married. I am short. I love to read. I love deep conversations about politics, sociology, science, what makes us human, etc. I'm smart, a little quiet at first, & really chatty once you get me going. I'm often too serious so I love & need to be around people that can make me laugh at myself. I love being outdoors. I love bugs & want to learn more about them. I like rpg style video games (like KOTOR & Dragon Age), I've played my share of D&D, & I'm a big fan of anime. I love nerdy people that are excited about learning & want to share all the things they know. I love comedians & going to comedy clubs. I don't look like a model & I don't have any desire to - I like real people, not plastic ones. I like my body just fine the way it is & appreciate all the things it has been through. I have a good life.

A little more in depth:

I was born in Utah & raised Mormon. Despite my upbringing, I am not a religious person. I am mostly atheist with a slight spiritual slant. I truly believe that the handful of spiritual beliefs that I carry will one day be explained by science. I dig Buddhism for it's focus on positive thinking & do not find a conflict between it & my agnostic views. I try to get involved with my local Buddhist community as often as time allows.

I'm a bit of a hippy in my views. I do not consider myself a republican or a democrat but I care a great deal about personal freedom, marriage equality, & "saving the planet" so I usually lean on the liberal side of the fence, which can be tough sometimes living in the conservative state of Idaho. I'm happy here & I'm fortunate to live in Boise. I love how beautiful Idaho is & I don’t know if I could ever leave the rocky mountains. Even so, I definitely would like to travel & see more of this amazing planet.

I've been married for over 4 years to the first boy I kissed in high school. We were both just kids, didn't see eye to eye on anything, & after only a few months couldn't stand the sight of each other. It's funny how life works out. I never would have imagined bumping into him 10 years later & hitting it off. We've been through a lot together, had our share of really bad fights, & have had a lot of intensely painful growing experiences. I love him for all the infuriating things he does, for all the ways he makes me laugh, & for putting up with my BS. In February we gave birth to & said goodbye to our little boy, Henry (I confess it was a little bit of a trip for me to discover that John's first son is also named Henry). He was a full term stillbirth & the cause of his sudden death is unknown. We miss him terribly.

Money is not something that is of huge importance to me (however, I must confess that I care about my good credit & having a retirement someday). I'm not generally a materialistic person & could be quite happy without the bulk of my possessions. I prefer the things that money cannot buy - deep friendships & human experiences.

I'm very focused on personal growth & try to take something of value from everything that happens in my life. I work hard not to view anything as ever being a "waste" of time, rather, I try to see it all as details added to making me who I am. I believe that we attract people & life experiences for a reason. I believe all things in life are necessary & things are as they should be.

I'm very independent & I like to have my alone time, but I also love my friends & try to get together with them as often as I can. Very few things in life make me happier than the simple pleasure of having a house full of people I care about.
