About Me:

I write books. I read books. I eat books. Very well, I do not EAT them, but there might be a situation in which I WOULD. After all, Bakhtin supposedly smoked his last book during the siege of Leningrad.

There are many things I love like a kid with tonsillitis loves ice cream: Battlestar Galactica, Buffy, Firefly, Doctor Who, comic books, Veronica Mars, doing a nice hand-foot match or a swingy campus, following the 2008 election....

Philippe Petit, the man who tightrope-walked between the twin towers. But our happy dance would have to be very terrestrial, because if we did it on a tightrope, one of us (I'm not saying who) would move very quickly from happy to dead.

rake wall - A normal wall with a bottom board, upright boards, and a top board. The particular rake wall in question had angles.

I'm a framer. We had to tear the trusses out because they weren't to spec for fire code in the area. We had to install a rake wall so it would be to spec.
