Which Doctor Who episodes (from the orignal show) are must sees for new fans?

I've started watching the series and I've finished watching all the episodes and specials from 2005 on. I want to watch some of the original series stuff but I'll admit it's a little daunting. 26…Continue

About Me:
I'm mostly an anime/manga lover but I'm pretty nerdy about other things to.

I've been told that I'm very laid back and low maintenance for a 16 year-old. I've also been told that I'm intuitive. I'm not sure if these statements are accurate but I'd like to believe they are.

I'm currently attending the arts magnet section of my local high school in Digital Arts. We are considered the second strangest group (right behind video. Those guys are just idiots)

I'm really really obsessive about the whole anime manga thing. I'm not kidding. I've read over 200 mangas and watched over 100 animes in a 4 year span.

Essay: "Howling for Justice" aka "Why Some Good Movies are Poorly Adapted Books"

Last year I had a teacher who assigned a compare/contrast essay. We got to choose the topic and I'd had one brewing for over a year at that point. So I wrote it.

I was hesitant to post it online, simply because I'm never sure of my works quality, but my teach (a notoriously and statistically proven hard grader) gave it an 8.75 on the 9 point scale, so I figured "What the heck?" This also seemed like the type of essay that would appeal to a nerdy crowd.

Please enjoy!…

Can Nerds Be Decepticons? - The Wrong Kind of Nerd

I'm begging everyone who is poised to start accusing me of betrayal (which I might very well deserve) to here me out.

This post has been in my head since near when I first began watching the vlogbrothers and was brought to light about a month ago by an unfortunate experience I had.

For Halloween, me and my best friend decided to be Jesse and James (Team Rocket) from Pokemon. With assistance of my lovely seamstress mother, we where decked out in white vinyl on the friday… Continue

LelouchxShirley: IT'S TOTALLY CANON! (I will talk about shiping and romance in general in here so non-anime nerds: don't leave)

I talk about anime a lot in this. I mostly talk about Code Geass. If your confused, just skim until it makes sense.

About a month ago, my anime-nerd-friend and I got in this intense debate over ShirleyxLulu or CCxLulu. I was all about Shirley (spoiler: I know she's dead. I still love her) when my friend declared "THAT'S NOT EVEN A CANON SHIP! CCxLULU TOTALLY IS!"

I was a little horrifying. To me, it is totally canon. But apparently, not… Continue

How Harry Potter Changed My Life

This may not be a new deceleration to many of you. And in some ways I feel that those who meet me will say I don't really have right to day this since I don't write fan-fiction, make fan art, or participate in various fan-events that others, who are more obsessed than I, do.

But Harry Potter still changed my life. It changed the way I thought about the world, I thought about myself, and the way others thought about me.

From the time I was 5 to the time I was 10, I was… Continue

And oh, you DO have a blog. That's great. I wish more people (nerdfighters in particular) would blog.  About books though.  If you branch out into non-manga/anime, you let me know, all right?

Also, getting back to our previous discussion, I completely agree - comments ARE the best presents you can give someone. I love comments.  Comments make me want to sing and dance, even though I'd do both absolutely atrociously.  Thanks for commenting as often as you do! :)

Sorry for spamming your wall with comments. I'm trying to get myself caught up. It hasn't been easy so far :) Zombies vs Unicorns really intrigues me, I'd love to get my hands on a copy. Good luck with your duplicate book, have you thought of book blogging? Whenever I have more than one copy of a book, I'd normally hold a giveaway on my blog.

Funny you should post a link to the Malinda Lo posts, I was ALMOST going to share the link in one of my books posts on Tuesdays and then I didn't.  I found it really interesting though.   My post for poetry sort of intimidates though.  As always, thanks for your wonderful comments. I really do appreciate them.

Thanks for sharing Maureen's blog post about James Frey. I always find Maureen Johnson to be really funny and interesting and I love reading every word she writes.

Also, I still don't really know who Snooki is, so I don't really take offense at her writing a book :) I'm happy in the dark about her.

This comment is HUGELY delayed (sorry!) but wow. What great books you're looking forward to :)  I really, really must read the first book in the trilogy by Sarah Rees Brennan, I know you've mentioned her before.

I've read Leviathan but not Behemoth yet! And I have White Cat, but not read it as yet! Ahhhhh. So many books, so little time.  I do love Cassandra Clare, but AGAIN, sadly I've not read Clockwork Angel yet. So far behind with everything. Books, blog comments, life :)

And what a nice thing to have said, thank you for that! Everytime someone comments on my blog post I feel very happy/special inside because I generally feel very uncertain and insecure about my Tuesdays posts! Maybe in time I'll feel better about them..

I adore you. Thank you for commenting on my blogs :) Also, I love Fahrenheit 451 so hard. And also Shakespeare, who is definitely awesome. I hope you join us in our discussion of A Christmas Carol :)

That would be awesome, let me know if you do :) And I wasn't sure if you'd want me to link to your blog post when I was writing mine, which is why I didn't..

That sounds like an AWFUL 7th birthday :( And ha at your dedication to read while visiting world-famous landmarks. I bet your parents weren't impressed. Any photos of you in your costume?

By the way, your blog is totally the one that I was referring to in MY post.

Well I do like mini-rants, so no need to apoligise :) I must say, I watched Howl's Moving Castle first and then read the book so I didn't have any such issues! But I definitely agree with you on Heathcliff. And I already read Sarah's blog - I think she's hilarious :) I have The Demon's Lexicon on my TBR shelf staring at me. Shall get to it soon. Thanks for your comment.
