Profile Information

What Kind of Nerdfighter Are You?
Writing, Reading, Music, Movie, and LOST!
About Me:
Born and raised in Georgia. I like to dance when nobody else is around. Reading is one of my favorite hobbies. I'm actually trying to increase my WPM reading/understanding every day. It's fun to see the progress. I write some. I'm trying to start writing more, especially since I'm going to be an English major when I get back in school. I watch movies a lot, and I love them. I don't like coming up with dates for me and a girlfriend because I always end up picking a movie to watch and then maybe cook dinner. Oh yeah, I like to cook. Lost has become an addiction of mine as of late, so has Heroes.... Soon they will be back on. Mwuahahaha!
Favorite Books, Movies, Music, and more
It's hard to pick out a favorite... Let's see... Frankenstein, Dracula, Heart of Darkness, Paradise Lost, Lord of the Flies, Alias Grace, Beloved, and of course Where the Wild Things Are!
What's your favorite thing to put on your head?
I like hats and sun glasses. My favorite one is the one in my profile picture. People don't understand how I wear that hat in the summer because it has wool on the inside, but it's just so comfortable... I can bear the degrees of hell that come with it... it feels so good.
If you could do your happy dance with anyone who would it be with?
Anne Hathaway. Ever since I saw her on the daily show and I heard her laugh, I've had the biggest crush.
When did you start watching the Vlogbrothers?

It Don't Matter if You're Black or White, We'll All Miss Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson is an interesting subject of study. He was beaten by his father, along with all of his other siblings, and emotionally scarred by other things his father did (like climbing through their window late one night, wearing a scary mask and yelling at them when they were all asleep. He apparently had many many nightmares about being kidnapped from his bedroom). When he first opened up about his childhood abuse, when he was a grown man, he covered his face and cried, so obviously it… Continue

The Tyranny of Marriage in America

When you think of marriage, what do you think of? I think of it in the religious traditional sense. I think of a man and a woman who love each other and want to spend the rest of their lives with each other. I think of two individuals with like values and ideals joining together and becoming one harmonious relationship. I think of a ceremony that expresses the beauty and sanctimony of a love that can only be expressed through action and not words. Basically, I'm thinking of a fantasy, a fantasy… Continue

Old Man Winter

He sits alone on the bench in the park. Brown pants, a gray shirt, boots and an Indiana Jones style hat is all he ever wears. Looking out over the lake, he just sits there. Ducks fly by, children swing, and dogs run around with their masters. This old man, this intriguing man, never says a word and only moves to change positions. His eyes glare at the scenery watching all things as they go by. Seasons change, leaves fall, birds fly south for winter, but he just sits there. Children grow and… Continue

Rant Warning: I Am Scared for America

That's right. I really am. I am terrified of what is to become of this country.

We've got a guy who came up with a mathematical equation to predict the future at 90% accuracy who claims we are headed toward nuclear war and a self-imposed armageddon. Tell you what "Nostradamus", tell me what I'm about to do with toilet paper that reflects my opinion of your mathematical equation and I just might give it some credit. How… Continue

Hey, so I was reading back-comments on Nerdfighterlike and I saw two comments were you were complaining that the creater of the group was six years younger than you and so you felt like a creeper.  How old does that make you? I didn't look how old she was, but (okay, so I'm kind of a flirt sometimes and I took my opportunity... I checked out your page and saw that you were and English major, you like to watch movies, read books, and cook.... how are you NOT simply amazing!?!?) I just wanted to say "Hi", so... "Hi!"

Another "Matt" was on the chat a few minutes ago. I almost started chatting with him, thinking it was you for a second.

Hope all is well.

My hero! (I'd say something on the thread, but I'm sick of her.)

You're made of so much awesome and other stuff I'll tell you about if you ask me nicely.

Anyhoo, I still think the chat is broken.

I think the chat is being stupid. I'm babbling away, and then you said, "herro?"

I have an idea: we both have gmail email addresses, shall we attempt g-chat? I've usually done better there.
