You don't know me, but my name is Hiatt. I'm a big fan of John Green's writing (as so many here are), and a few weeks ago, I reread Paper Towns in order to write a school paper about it. This inspired me to reread An Abundance of Katherines (which I own), and then I figured I'd complete the trifecta and reread Looking For Alaska, which I checked out from the Taylor Ranch library. I reached the midway point in the book when I discovered your note. I'd like to sincerely thank you, as it was a pleasant surprise (to say the least). I already knew about Nerdfighters, obviously, but it brightened my day to read it. I am curious as to when it was that you wrote the note, if you remember. I'm leaving the note in the book in its original spot, along with a note of my own. My note reads as follows: "Dear reader, I feel it is safe to assume that by now you think this book is awesome. I feel it is also safe to assume that you read the preceding note and found it to be a pleasant surprise, as I did. I came across the preceding note tonight as I read through Looking For Alaska for the second time. The author of the previous note already gave you websites to visit (websites I also recommend), so all that I have left to recommend are John Green's two other novels: An Abundance of Katherines and Paper Towns. Most importantly, I'd like to say that this novel is something special. It's an insight into the human condition and it's something to be remembered. Contact me at duckieshirt@mindless.com if you get this note, and please, feel free to leave your own."
Thank you for the surprise,
Hiatt
