I absolutely love Anouk. She's a singer from Holland, and she's amazing. It's like rock/pop type music. She's been around for quite a few years, at least 10. I love her earlier albums. Her last two were good, but she's getting older and losing that…

What Kind of Nerdfighter Are You?
I am a total MUSIC nerdfighter.
About Me:
I play harp, piano, guitar, flute, piccolo, and drums. I compose my own music and I also write for interdependent films and plays. I play with bands and orchestras, I preform solo, I also conduct and teach music and in my spare time for fun I love to read up on music/bands, play/write music with my awesome musician buds and I work in a recording studio and I am a substitute drummer for a few local bands, and...I always have an earbud in my ear at all times. SHOCK! I hate it when people say ''I listen to EVERYTHING'' it shows no opinion and it's simply not possible, I'll listen to any type/genre of music as long as it doesn't suck.

Kaki King.

Kaki King (born 24th August 1979 as Katherine Elizabeth King) is an American guitarist and singer from Atlanta, Georgia.

When Kaki King went into the studio in upstate New York to record the tracks for her fourth album, Dreaming of Revenge, her producer, Malcolm Burn, had one condition: “He said, If someone can’t be sawing a log in half and whistling along to the song, I don’t want it on the record,” King recalls with a laugh.

And so the bar was set. Burn’s mandate was just the push King neede… Continue

Reel Big Fish (“RBF”) is a southern California ska punk band who broke into the mainstream in the mid to late 1990s.

Their debut album, “Everything Sucks” (1995), was an underground hit and led to a deal with Mojo Records, an indie label. “Turn the Radio Off” (1996) established the band in the underground music scene, and they began touring throughout the USA. After the single “Sell Out” began breaking into the mainstream, including MTV, the album made an appearance on the charts. The ska reviv… Continue

Joshua Radin

Joshua Radin is an acoustic singer/songwriter. When close friend and actor/film-maker Zach Braff heard a demo of Radin’s song “Winter,” he was immediately interested, and got the song onto the show Scrubs in the episode “My Screw Up.” The song received an overwhelmingly positive response and gave Radin substantial exposure with the show’s demographic. The songs “Today”, “Closer”, “Don’t Look Away” and “These Photographs” were also used on the show.

...i would probably name my harp Gandel which means harp in Sindarin, which is one of the languages that Tolkien created. i feel like a big nerd right now.

wow i guess you feel pretty stongly about the schools. i think it is absolutely INSANE though how you never had to take any state tests or anything. because while you learned to read and write (obviously from our convo) other kids could be UNschool and not taught anything at all...so idk i just think that's crazy. liek over here (in nj) it's the law you have to go to school until at least 16. but you can be homeschooled if you're parents want but i think there are some state tests the kids have to pass...but ill have to look into that because i was never homeschooled.

i personally am an advocate of degrees. i think school is a sort of apprenticeship. the teachers are sort of the masters and they impart there knowledge unto each of their pupils and the degree is legal document signifying there graduation from apprenticeship (i.e. the teachers have nothing more to teach). so if you go around waving your diploma you're telling the world, "HEY! i've been taught this and this and this by qualified professionals and you can trust that i know it!"

i agree you dont need a degree to learn things but it just makes things easier. like employers and others wont have to test you to see if you can read and write because you already have a degree. umm i havent really thought the issue through all the way (and i could probably rant all day) so im just going to leave it at saying i really like school and everything

Wow you have a pretty crazy last name.

Oh and i should probably inform you that i will make good on my promise of 64000 dollars but its going to have to be in monopoly dollars. but thats not totally useless because you can like buy the whole board with that...i think i havent played in a while.

i like the names of your harps! if i had a harp it would TOTALLY be a chick so it only makes sense that your instraments are guys. hmm im going to try and think of a good harp name fro me (female) harp even though its imaginary... ill have to get back to you on this one.

are there some sort of state tests you have to pass to be unschooled. i thought it was a law that you had to obtain some sort of education and dont you need some sort of degree to go to college? im not nocking UNschooling but im just curious...this is a crazy concept.

*note to self: listen to ''landed'' or ''Rockin' The Suburbs'' * k can do! and i think that i am a much crazier piano player than ben folds. i swear if you saw it you'd think that there wasn't any pattern at all and i was just playing randomly but trust me, im a professional.

...im thinking i might want to check out this concert

lawyer for the navy is a super hard job, but i guess if you HAVE to go into the navy might as well do it in style. and it has its perks traveling around the world, sexy outfits, etc. etc.

and wait wait wait. woah what's this UNschooling? i feel totally uneducated because i have never even heard of this and i pride my self in knowing a little bit about everything (well i try) could you give me an insiders explanation...i would be very grateful!

and also you must have like REALLY unconventional parents...i mean from just what i know they set you up with a harp when you were just a kid (followed by a herd of other instruments) and kept you out of (aka protected you from) public school. are they both like eccentric writers/musicians/mad scientists?

and congrats on saving a lot of money and being wayyyy ahead of the crowd (college at 16 that's unthinkable for me) i have like SO MUCH in loans...ahh it'll be okay.

im really glad that you dont have a problem with new jersey because whenever i go out of state everyone gives me a problem about it. its actually a really good time (well you know pros and cons but mostly pros!) you should try it out sometime.

oh and yah my name is oliver. oliver james...oh no wait thats just a fleet foxes song. yah my name is michael so guess what? YOU WIN AT LIFE!

thanks im working on my photo problem with trained professionals so i should be a model in a few years, fit to pose with harps and all sorts of instruments...but sadly im not on that level yet. does you big and beautiful harp have a name? (or have you named any inanimate objects for that matter?) my guitar's name is rodrigo (first name) gabriella (last name) if you can guess why ill give you 64000 dollars haha.

oh and lastly i (think) i sent you a private message, there should be a link in the sidebar --> to your right.

thx for teh note! soooooo i tried out Ben Folds for breakfast and maybe i just wasnt craving him or something but i couldnt get into it...BUT since it comes so highly recommended from a reputable source ill have to try again later!

and thats really cool! you must really really like this Howard shore because your flying all the way here to see him. ive never flown to chicago to see a band (the equivalent of what your doing) but if i did i would REALLY REALLY LIKE THEM!

and here's a question for yah: what tyoe of concert is it going to be? you said that he does muvie music; is he going to have a movie going in the back? just a random strange question sry.

OH and thats a great career you wanna go into! way cooler than mine. i want to be a lawyer for the navy. i am not in college yet. im going for my first year in a couple weeks though, ITS GOING TO BE EPIC! what year of high school are you in? oh and i want to go to UVA (i think law school is 4 years away) for law school but its like REALLY REALLY hard to get in their so ill just have to see what kind of LSAT scores i get, my gpa, etc but apparently that is a really good school to go to if you want to be a jag.

where do you want to go to school?

and yah i could say the same about you: why do you have to live in IL? I mean IL really? haha are you upset because its far away or you just dont like NJ in general?

oh and last thing because this is getting a little long but nice new pic! that harp looks custom made...and im saying that because i know oh so much about harps, but nonetheless its a great pic, sadly i am not especially photogenic.

Hey and i did check out your last.fm and guess what? it turns out we have HIGH musical compatibility so thats cool. ill leave you a comment that says ITS ME so you can check out my profile and discover all new kinds of bands that youll love (just like Rodrigo y Gabriela [im glad that you like them :) ])...or not.

oh and not to be nosy or anything but are you flying in to see a show in nyc?

oh well music composition and tech sound engineering sounds like an easy (double?) major except for the fact that it doesnt sound that way at all. im an undecided major right now but i want to be a lawyer so i basically just need a degree to get into law school. hopefully a good law school but there like super competitive so lets just see how it goes.

there are two things that i want to address now: 1. i would love to hear what a guitar or violin and harp/piano jam session would sound like 2. I WOULD LOVE TO JAM WITH YOU. im going to be honest no one has ever invited or lamented the fact that we couldnt jam together. so thats awesome. also i think that you would do most of the jamming because i cant really play anything but it would be fun!

yah and idk i saw like these rock stars in like a vh1 special or something like that just doing ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME and LA LA LA LA LA LA LA's and i was like thats awesome that is definitely like when football players take ballet to become more balanced. rock stars doing like opera to get better vocals. so ill definitely have to look into that.

my sisters do choir but i never got into it.

music is like food on many levels like i cant live without it etc. etc. oh and thanks for calling me awesome from the limited amount of info i know about you i think that your awesome too. i mean who plays the harp? awesome!

i dont have long hair but humidity must be like the ultimate enemy for lady! maybe if you have really thin hair it could be good? because it like doubles the size of hair...idk

humidity=muggy sweatyness BUTTTT i do like to walk in the rain. summer/spring rain over like winter-ish, the reasons being obvious its warmer and thus more enjoyable! but i have never used my ipod as i walked i've always been afraid of getting either electrocuted of breaking my ipod...what im trying to say is YOU'RE BRAVE!

yah deviantart is super cool! but be careful hours do go by in a flash when your browsing. and im really glad that i got to introduce you to something that you enjoy!

im kind of intimidated by your level of musicianship. you seem really accomplished, are you thinking about going into music as a profession? i played violin for a couple years (and a little cello) not like serious after school sessions but just in the school orchestra...but then i moved and my new school didnt offer it anymore so i just kinda stopped.

oh but i do vocals! like in the shower, in the car, on the streets. you name the place and ill probably be singing there hahaa. i dont want to go into music professionally but i think taking like singing lessons would be really fun. hmmm must find time and money to make that feasible.

but i got a guitar for christmas, ive been a little busy so i havent gotten around to playing it (ie learning how to play it) yet. its acoustic and i got it because i really like this acoustic guitar band called rodrigo y gabriela, check em out, yo!

i have lots of favorite bands! music=life. i think music is like food. how does it make you feel? you know you have to be in the mood for some music and some is good all the time like pizza. but just because it isnt right all the time doesnt make it inferior to pizza you know what i mean? im ranting now so ill stop...but doy uo have a favorite band?

do you have a last.fm? you could get an indepth look at y music taste there!

ooooooooooooooooooo thanks for linking me to www.thinkgeek.com ive never heard of it and ill be sure to give it a thorough look through soon.

hmmm well in jersey its been raining a LOT like wayy too much than how it is usually. ahhh climate change how you strike again! but thats cool who doesnt love humidity?

umm i think that i would marry deviantart.com if i was to marry a website. i think that i spend WAAAAY to much time going through picture there.

wow you seem like a very accomplished musician. how long have you been playing?
