There's so much suffering in the world, and there's not enough people doing things to change it. This group is for Nerdfighters who do want to help, in all the ways we can. Discuss problems and what we can do to fix them. Not that hard, right?

Are you an artistic nerdfighter? Do you like to draw, paint, sculpt, build, carve, or mold things into any sort of fashion? Do you do it as a hobby, or maybe even professionally? Maybe you like to just doodle comics? Then this is a group for you!

One of the things I had mentioned to Mike is that I'm trying to find a way to make my work financially sustainable. I've basically liquidated my life savings (and dipped into my parents' retirement savings with their permission) to do this project.

I'm hoping to approach businesses with the idea of helping to sponsor and cover some of the costs associated with this project. I was also hoping to attach some letters of recommendation. If Mike's having you replicate/emulate aspects of my approach - you think he'd be interested in writing me a letter of recommendation or endorsement for me?

I'm actually in Toronto at the moment visiting family.

I'm not trying to form my own organization or anything like that. I love teaming up with good organizations. Who knows? Maybe an opportunity will present itself in the future...

Hi Monique! I had heard of LEAD International from Mike Blondino - who emailed me a while back. I hadn't heard from him recently though - guess he must be busy.

A Funding Circle...

Hi to all my Nerd Fighter friends!!! I have had a challenge put out to me by my boss and I am contemplating on how to go forward with it...What do you think of this idea?

Starting next year we are going to be putting together funding circles, which will be a group of 15-20 people who will give a certain amount of money each year for three years. ALL the money that comes from the circles will go to buying raw cashews for the processing schools in Guinea Bissau and Senegal. The cool thing about t… Continue

Spreading the fire-my story

Ok, here goes my 1st official blog...
Have any of you ever made a fire before? Maybe you and your peeps wanted to do a bonfire on the beach, or you went camping with family, or you wanted to make the coolest Jack-o-lantern ever so instead of a candle you used paint thinner and a paper towel (props to Ben, don't try it at home :D ). Anyways, every fire, both big and small starts with a spark, a tiny flame. Some fires start so small that you have to use your hands to block the wind so it can grow,… Continue
