- About Me:
- I'm a middle-class white guy living on Long Island, NY who discovered long ago that wherever it is I might belong - it's not here. I live to write, I love to learn, I'm prone to depression but I tend to laugh a lot. I'm a goofball in almost every sense of the word, but when it comes time to talk about the things that really keep me getting out of bed in the morning and have me lying awake at night, I seem to be in a minority of people who take them seriously (at least as far as my little corner of the world is concerned). And in that respect, the nerdfighters and many others on the internet and Youtube in particular, literally all of whom I've never even met, have become like family to me. They've given me places where I can share these thoughts and feelings with other people who, much like myself, are simply yearning to grab people by the face on the street and say HOW DOES THIS NOT AMAZE YOU, ARE YOU BROKEN? And yes, I realize the family thing is cliche as all hell, but damnit it had to be said.
- Favorite Books, Movies, Music, and more
- Books: The Road, All of Barry Eisler's books, Anything and everything by Carl Sagan, Harry Potter, Ender's Game, Infinity and the Mind, more that I can't name right now (Also planning on reading a few books by this guy I've been hearing a lot about, he was - ah, what was his name again? Jim...Jones...James? James Brown? Jean Grey?
Ohh, right. John Green. Cool dude ; D
Movies: I don't even know right now. Kinda tired, but I'll come back to it if I can.
Music: Everything. But some favorites are Porcupine Tree, Bon Iver, The Flashbulb, Cloudkicker, Kashiwa Daisuke, Weather Systems by Anathema, Florence and the Machine, Ani Difranco, Pearl Jam, Mew, etc, etc.
