Your way is more fair. And yes, definitely easier.
I'm planning on doing NaNoWriMo. I also plan on failing it and not coming up with much of anything, and BS-ing my way through 50,000 words. But I wouldn't be the only writer to ever do that, I'm sure. I've got an idea. Let's just hope it gets me somewhere!
I think you should try it. Who cares that you're busy? We're all busy! Even folks busy doing nothing are busy! :)
