Love is unconditional but it can also be unpredictable, unexpected, uncontrollable, unbearable, and strangely easy to mistake for loathing. It makes you feel like you want to die when they don't want to talk to you. When they say hi your heart flutt…

Loving someone makes walking away feel like going out on a tightrope without a net below. It doesn't matter if you just argued or laughed or cried--you just don't want to let go of them until the very last second. When I'm with the people I love by…

Its hard to say whether he hasn't carried all his election promises out because he's a politician and they rarely do what they say they will or the economic downturn. Not long ago an expert on Triple J's Hack said Rudd isn't over his honey moon peri…

I knew that I was in love with my boyfriend when I was having a really bad day and I all I wanted was to cry on his shoulder and for him to hug me. I knew it when there was nothing to change about him.

When it comes to modern philosophers, I have to say I'm part of Team John Hick. I think he makes good logical arguments, and has made several sounds refutals to common arguments. I also really like Hare's concept of Blik's. :)

That's the right word, yes, a 'working hypothesis'. I meant, that, even if we knew everything about this obscure external world (absolutely everything) and if these informations were uninfluenced by our "conceptual scheme", we did not know if our im…

I like the think of the external world as a 'working hypothesis'. It seems plausible but is open to scepticism. Although, by 'true' world you might not mean the external world; I'm making an assumption here.

Ah, I understand, what you mean. Actually I read what he said about time just today ;) Yeah, this concept truly was important as a bridge. But I don't know if his concept of a "thing in itself" is right. As I understand him he says that there is a…

We learn about Kant if we take Philosophy as a subject. Otherwise, no. What I mean by 'conceptual schemes' is his belief that the way in which we gain knowledge is pre-detemined by a 'conceptual scheme' that is already in our mind. This gives us co…

What do you mean with "conceptual schemes"? I don't know the English words and I don't find it at wikipedia in the context of Kants philosophy. But I agree with you at the ethical point. I don't like that he "needs" god in his philosophy. I can agre…

I like Kant's idea of conceptual schemes; it seems to bridge the gap between empericism and rationalism pretty well! His moral ethics don't quite ring true for me though, too much technically wrong with them. I am also an admirer of Karl Marx, thou…

Ha, another Russel-Fan, that's great. Well, my favourite philosophers are: - Immanuel Kant (I try to read the "Kritik der reinen Vernunft" at the moment. It's pretty hard, but I really adore his work) - Baruch de Spinoza/Benedictus de Spinoza (he…

What Kind of Nerdfighter Are You?
A good one
About Me:
Im in year 11 and live in Melbourne, Australia. I play drums and am in a few bands. I am a nerd, although i don't look like one. My favourite topic to debate is most definatly Philosophy (but i also love litriture, especially all the excestentialist writers), but I also love my sciences. I do stacks of debating and public speaking, and want to become a lawyer or enter politics. I live for music, cos music is sex, and we all live for sex, so there. Oh, and drums are the single greatest thing in the world for two reasons:
1) Nothing beats the feeling when your on stage playing with your band, and
2) Nothing beats the feeling of coming off stage and everyone is in love with me cos im so great at them :D, or I like to think I am XD
Favorite Books, Movies, Music, and more
Top 5:
Crime and Punisment - Dostoyevsky
The Outsider - Camus
The Trial/Metamorphisis - Kafka
1984 - Orwell (gotta love it)
What's your favorite thing to put on your head?
Well, I love to put silly putty on my head, and try to balance books there as well
If you could do your happy dance with anyone who would it be with?
Im going to use a classic hear, Your mum, hehehe XD

I just play in the jazz band at school. I used to also play in senior band and percussion ensemble, but I don't have time for them this year. I also had my own band with my friends (all girls) in Year 9 and 10, but that kind of fell apart. We were pretty good though. Recently I formed a group again with some other friends (guys and girls) to play at a party, but that didn't end up happening either. It's a shame, because we sounded really good.

I'll play mostly anything that interests me, really. I stopped lessons after Year 10 (three years), but pretty much if I really like a song, I'll usually just teach myself drums to it. The music I like is mostly rock, though. My proudest achievement is perfecting "The View From The Afternoon" by Arctic Monkeys. If you haven't heard it, search it on YouTube, it's an insane song to play on drums, and heaps of fun too!

I've been playing since Year 8, so I'm in my fifth year now. I used to have stuff up on my old YouTube account, but that got deleted. But here's my channel, and I'll do a vid of me playing drums soon. =)

Hey Steven, was just reading your profile, and I play drums too! I love it, and because I'm at an all-girls school I'm the best on there. =P Everyone else is a nooblet.
