The thing about Twilight that kills me is that Bella is really 2-D, she's weak and whiny. Just thought I'd give y'all a 1 sentence rant. Anyways... My favorite YA Fantasy novel is City of Bones (this is the first in a trilogy, so the link will tak...
I agree, Twilight is a totally rip-off of the Sookie Stackhouse mysteries.
I am currently re-reading Looking For Alaska. It is amazing, with an amazing and shocking plot...if anyone here hasn't read it (which I doubt) you totally should...like ri...
I've read it several times. It's one of my favorites, a gem of literature, really. As for a blurb, I was under the impression that they had to be very short, and thought of something along the lines of "If he's crazy, what does that make you?" But...
I adore all the symbolism and metaphors that Kesey puts into One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. The scene when Chief looks out the window and watches the young dog in the night is definitely my favorite part of the book.
It has been decided that, Em Filer and I now share the slogan; Fangirl much?Nov 18

My super amazingly fantastical sister Kristina who is very unfortunatly serveral states away and will be for a total of four years till she graduates college.
First things first, have you read a good Young Adult Fiction book lately? If you said yes, write a review (about a paragraph... nothing to long) and send it to; drowninginflowers@gmail.com and then I'll compile a blog post with a bunch of nerdfighter reviews. This way you get a variety of opinions and not just my extremely biased opinion.
Also, the blurbing book club is still reading, "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" by Ken Kesey until the end of November. Make sure to read,… Continue

Well I suppose thew quality of your work as a writer really comes down to what your audience thinks. Very awesome, I was kind of afraid they'd be made of suck when you could talk back to them.
Thank you, I can't wait for my co-author to get me the props needed for all of the photos so I can start this thing. I can relate, classes are really picking up over here and with wrestling and work it's all kinda crushing me. I can take it though. So are you going to be able to see your family for thanksgiving?
Yeah I read the book like two years ago. I remember crying twice. haha. But I still haven't seen the movie!
omg my favorite book? thats tough....oh mann I don't know. haha
I sawed the quote! It made me happy :) Hahaha. The only thing I hate about the exerpt is that I can't figure out which character is the "good guy" and which is the "bad guy." I want to know more! You can't tease me like that.
Dude, that's a WONDERFUL deal. I'll take it! Hahaha. Actually, I wouldn't make that pact if I were you... I haven't tried script writing yet! I might suck. Or I might be great. You may never know... o.O
Yeah, I know it'll all be fine. But that doesn't make it fun! *whines.* Hahaha, I am a class-A complainer. Ask any of my friends. 'Tis truly a skill.
Now, now, let's not get ahead of ourselves. It is true that the fact that I got those ACT scores is AMAZING (nothing short of a miracle, in fact) and that those scores could get me into any school. However, in addition to being a class-A complainer, I am a class-A procrastinator. I'm really unmotivated and almost never do my homework, which results in less-than-wonderful grades. I mean, they're fine, for the most part (all A's and B's, with one glaring exception) but nothing Ivy-worthy. Plus, I find standardized testing WAY easier than regular school. Plus, I hate high school. Hahaha, I sound positive, no?
As to what I want to do, the deep and spectacular answer is...
Drum roll please...
I have no idea! Hahaha. Right now, the field that most appeals to me is politics; I love public speaking, and it would be amazing to have the power to actually effect change and make at least a part of the world a bit better. But I'm not really certain about anything... My one true passion is music (singing, specifically, but I play the guitar, too) but the truth is that I'm not all that great. And even if I were, music is no career to support myself or a family on. So, basically, the answer is... who knows?
What about you? Are you planning on being an author, or are you also persuing the semi-sensible carreer-choice route? :)
P.S. I apologize for my inability to write a short wall post. Hahaha
Hahaha that's okay, I do that all the time. BTW, I'm extremely proud of taking up a good 50% of your comment wall :)
So I checked out your blog (love the excerpt, by the way; now I want to know what happened!), but I couldn't find the quote. I may just be challenged... Hahaha
Yeah, I definitely wouldn't attempt a script for NaNoWriMo. But I think it would be a fun thing to do, at some point; I'm much better with dialogue and physical expressions than I am with inner thoughts and location descriptions. Maybe someday... :)
Shut up. I have finals starting tomorrow and I'm FREAKING OUT. I'm sure it'll all be fine, but I'm taking a few really tough classes and I'm just kinda stressed. Plus, I have a crazy bitch teacher in Lit so I had a test and a paper due this week, despite having FINALS... fucking crazy.
Hahaha, thank you for your congratulations, I am quite proud of my top-notch nerdiness. However, get this; I got the results back from the ACT. Guess what? I'm in the top NINETY SEVENTH PERCENTILE!!! How ridiculous is that!?!? I even had a perfect score on the reading section! This absolutely blows my mind... my college counselor said that a score like that could get me into ANY school in the country. Oh my god...
*Ahem!*
Your status (and I quote): "I've decided my official slogan is; Fangirl much?"
Excuse me!? That is OUR slogan, honey. Hmph. I feel so unloved! *sob.*
Just kidding. But seriously, I feel that I need some credit. Despite my having nothing to do with the creation of that slogan. It's still half mine though :)
Yay! I feel so special now :) I'm glad you enjoy that quote too, hahaha
You used our slogan!?!? Wow, now I feel REALLY special! Is it your blog here on the ning, or elsewhere? I want to read it now! Hahaha
Yeah, ALL I'm doing is winging it. I have no idea where my story is going. Hahaha; I just got an idea for a single scene and started there and kept writing, I'm waiting to see what's going to happen. I use too much dialogue in my stories... I think I'd make a better script writer :)
I'm jealous of your having-a-full-week-off-ness. That's a word, ya know. Mhm.
And thank you for your encouragement, but I'm definitely more of an SAT girl. Hahaha, that sounds so nerdy... <3
Good afternoon, many apologies for the late reply. Been quite busy lately. Had to clear out my whole room for the bed people just cos one of the wheels off my bed wasn't feeling quite itself. *mutter mutter*
I am a total book enthusiast, so your novelist skills put me in awe. Likewise arty skills. I aspire to obtain some myself someday. (:
First of all I just want to thank everyone who is reading this because that means you scrolled all the way to the bottom of the page. Congratulations, your not quite that lazy.
There is a reason for putting this at the bottom though. Its because most of this information is useless. Actually, at this point I don't even know what I'm going to write here, I'm just winging it.
So, I guess I should tell you about me. I mean there is that, "about me" section at the top. But, as you might have noticed I neglected to put much about me in there (pun intended). Because I figured the average, "person visiting my page" doesn't really care about the details of my life. But, since you scrolled this far down I guess I'll share.
Primarily, I consider myself a writer. Mostly I write YA fiction, but I'm also a fan of fantasy, sci-fi, and historical fiction. As far as reading goes all the genres I listed plus poetry and biographies.
Music is pretty amazing. I'm sorry to say that the playlist at the top doesn't really do my interest justice. Basically, add a lot of WROCK into the mix (playlist.com doesn't have WROCK bands in their listing besides Harry and the Potters). But, I also like cheesy girly artists like Kate Voegele and Sara Bararielles (sp). And anything I hear that sounds awesome.
