I'd decided to catch up with a few Dickens' classics, I've read A Tale Of Two Cities and Oliver Twist now.
They are both great reads and have succeeded in making me highly emotional.

"My Horizontal Life: A Collection of One-Night Stands" by Chelsea Handler.
The last book I read was Holy Cows and Hog Heaven by Joel Salatin. It's about how to eat local. I'm currently reading Mountains Beyond Mountains by Tracy Kidder which is about Paul Farmer and his medical work in Haiti.
For those who enjoy reading Stephenie Meyer's best-selling saga.

- I'm a Literature/Music/Art/NPR/TAL Nerdfighter.
- About Me:
- I'm Adrienne. I live in a small town in Missouri, where Republicans roam the downtown streets and the news focuses on pot farming grandmothers (did anyone hear about that story? No?).
I discovered Brotherhood 2.0 in November of 2008 when I was sick one day, and ended up spending that day and the rest of the week watching the fabulous Green brothers.
I enjoy writing, though I don't have a particularly favored style. I also spend the majority of my time reading (slowly) a pretty decent amount of books. I also love to chat about books and music, so leave a comment, chances are, I'll respond!
I have a few favorite movies, though I wouldn't consider myself much of a film person. My favorites consist of Across the Universe, Juno, Garden State, Little Miss Sunshine, and Edward Scissorhands. I also have a great deal of guilty pleasure videos, so if you mention a chick flick...
I'm a fairly quiet person, but if you give me caffeine, make me exceedingly happy/mad, or scare the crap out of me, I'm occasionally loud.
I'm easily confused, but find myself addicted to LOST. I also like the Office and 30 Rock.
I also listen to a exceedingly large amount of music, mostly folk, indie, alternative, and rock. Occasionally, though, I'll take a liking to a pop song. Not a fan of rap, sorry. In fact, why don't you take a peek down there and check my current favorite bands, eh?

On Saturday, Wisconsin Public Radio aired a special on "Revenge of the Nerds" on the hour long program, To the Best Of Our Knowledge. Basically, they interviewed a few nerdy authors and fairly geeky characters about how nerdom is slowly becoming cool. A Star Trek Review from a Semi-Trekkie
Okay, I'll admit that I am not a full blown "trekkie" or "trekker" in the Star Trek franchise.
Sadly, I have not spent my hours beaming up, I haven't crushed on Kirk, I haven't challenged Spock. I've watched some episodes of the Next Generation with my dad, but I haven't watched the show since the beginning or memorized any lines.
I'm really not that big of a fan. I couldn't get into it. I've wanted to be the uber-nerdy trekkie, like all the other cool sci-fi nerds, but I find myself slow… Continue

A Different Sort Of Collab...
So, I was just thinking...
I'm rather uncomfortable putting my face and information out on youtube, but I thought it would be cool to do different videos everyday, revolving around a theme, that don't show anyone's face (unless used creatively). It could be like a slideshow of photos, or a cartoon of your day or something, maybe a review of a movie, or a song. I don't know. That's for anyone who decides to participate to choose. It would also be like a collab channel, with a different person ev… Continue
