No, I meant to use viruses as an example of a semi-living organism. I'm sorry I didn't make that clear.

Viruses would have come after, actually, as they need other cellular organisms to reproduce. Rather the running theory is that protein strains in a primordial environment were able to become more and more complex until the first single cell creatur…

Evolution is not a wild guess. As you said, Mutation happens, natural selection happens, etcetc. Evolution is the theory that ties all these things together. Only then they all make sense, otherwise it would be a HUGE coincidence they all happen at…

Nothing is "proven" in the scientific community. That's where all of the creationists nitpick about everything. The funny thing is that evolution is much closer to fact than creationism. A theory in science is different from a theory in laymen's ter…

It evolved from something that was not classed as alive. Like viruses. Requirements of a living thing: • Processes occur inside living things • Materials are given out by living things • Living things respond to a stimulus • Living things grow and…

Okay...well then how do you explain all the stories that are so similar to that of Jesus that far predate his?

So, what you're saying is that some person out of Africa who dies without ever seeing a Bible in their life will go to Hell?

In what way would proving his existence force us to believe in him? Scientists have proved the earth to be 4.5 billion years old, and yet there are still millions if not billions of people worldwide who believe it to be only a few thousand...also: He appeared to several people after his ressurection according to the New Testament.

So what you're saying is that if you've never heard the story of Jesus, and therefore were never aware of what he did for you, you cannot go to Hell?

So why not just come down out of the sky and prove he exists? That'd convert me...

Why, again, is it fair for us to be punished from birth for the original sin that Adam commited?

All sin removed by one man: Why is there still sin?

Okay, so what your saying is if your father murdered someone, it's perfectly okay for you to serve a life sentence for murder, even though you didn't do anything?

Then why were those babies born into sin?

1) Okay...well Jesus spent a few days on a cross (I'm not doubting that's excruciatingly painful), and then three days in Hell (again...ouch), but what about the theif? The one right next to him, the one that didn't accept him who's STILL in Hell...I'm assuming you believe that Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice for you, but isn't his punishment a little more severe? Did God play favorites, putting his son first? Shouldn't Jesus have spent eternity in Hell, seeing as how he had the sin of EVERY person in the world, and not just the one person everyone else has to deal with?

2) What sin did the firstborn sons of Egypt commit when God commanded the Spirit of Death to kill them? What of the infant sons, who had not yet the CHANCE to do wrong? Why did he kill them? Why not simply kill their fathers?

Though I'm glad you see that looking at good and evil is no way to see the world.

1) If your god is not truly omnipotent, why worship him?

2) He can't lie...but he can contradict himself? Such as telling us not to murder in his 10 Commandments, then commanding murder throughout the rest of the bible, including the book the Ten Commandments were issued in?

3) Which brings me to another point. Moral actions. Are they moral because God commanded them, or did God command them because they are moral?

My proof that there is not a perfect and omnipotent god is a simple question: Can this god create a boulder too heavy for it to lift?

If it can: Then it is limited because it cannot lift the boulder.
If it cannot: Then it is limited because it cannot create the boulder.

Aristotle once said: If God is willing but not able to stop evil he is limited. If he is able but not willing he is malevolent. If he is both able and willing, why do we have evil? If he is neither able nor willing, why call him God?

I would have responded on the topic, but it was so cluttered.
