Everyone Sang

Everyone suddenly burst out singing,
And I was filled with such delight
As prisoned birds must find in freedom;
winging wildly across the white
orchards and dark green fields; on - on - and out of sight.

Everyone's voice was suddenly lifted;
And beauty came like the setting sun:
My heart was shaken with tears, and horror
Drifted away...Oh! but everyone
was a bird; and the song was wordless;
The singing will never be done.

Blurbing Book Club: 13 Little Blue Envelopes

[SIDENOTE: Guilty about the last twenty years being blogless, I have decided to end this senseless waste of my geniosity-filled brain AND SO have decided to get on with it. My first step is to write not very in-depth coverage of the Blurbing Book Clubs, about which i am HUGELY excited, not having ever been in any kind of bookclub before, and put off by the slew of chicklit devoted to the pastime in the mid noughties (ie. "the jane austen book club", "the reading group", "angry… Continue

i got blogtagged: five facts that are not necessarily relevant or even interesting

1. i would probably never have posted on here were it not for the blogtagging.

2. not because i don't want to (i do! i love foisting my opinion on others!) but because i have little to no motivation when there are no deadlines.

3. i'm bringing nerd glasses back, femme style. i think mine are even geekier than john's.

4. i have a number of random things in my desk drawer, none of which are items of stationary. they include a barracuda jaw bone, a brownie guide… Continue

i have come to the conclusion there are probably about 6 in devon, which seems unlikely, as if you imagine all the counties having only 6 NF then thats not very many AT ALL. so there must be mooooore. MORE! if we live with in about 1k of each other, technically that is the ratio for the whole country, thats faultless logic!

Hey, long time no talk. I am back in the States now and bought a copy of 13 LBE here. I also finished Devilish and Kathernines. I am going to the library tomorrow to get Catcher in the Rye and Slaughterhouse Five, both of which I have already read. My school lib doesn't have Going Postal so I am going to the Chicago Public Lib to get that one. Ahh books! Are you still in Epsana?

Hey! Thanks for the vocal comment... :)
I have not yet gotten the chance to check out those links (trust me, I will!) but I did some searching in my facebook messages and found the group that did "Kiss From a Rose" and it was sort of a "duh" moment - The King's Singers, of course. I should have gone with my gut instinct...
In response to your comment on the forum, I like all types of a cappella - barbershop, contemporary and also choral stuff (especially Whitacre and Lauridsen - *melt*)
Nice to meet you! :D
