Hello! My name is amber and I'm your adoptive "mother" haha. I'll give you what I got when I first joined. You seem to be getting the hang of things through!

"i should probaby start with an introduction to the main sections of the ning

1) "my page" this is very useful when it comes to finding out who has joined groups you've made or replied to discussions you have started. it also tells you if someone has accepted your friend request or left a comment for you. it's great for keeping up to date with what's going on in your little bubbe on the ning if that makes and sense :D

2)the forum. i guess you've already discovered this bit and worked out what its for but i'll introduce you to the inner workings of the members of it. one of the things about the ning is there is a very diverse range of views on matters so quite passionate debates do start up. i enourage involvement in these because actually they're generally very interesting but it can get quite heated. don't let it put you off though, the heated stuff is normally kept to the 'discussions and debates' bit (i can't remember the exact wroding) the rest is normally nice conversation. there are occasional trolls too but they're easy enough to ignore.

3) blogs- in my experience they are often written but not often read. still though, it's nice to get your opinions out there right? :)

4) groups- groups are quite interesting because they really do cover a wide range of issues so all operate very differently. some have really quite close, active communities, others are a little bit dead but you know, possible to revive :)

5) chat- again, a very close community but all round a lovely bunch and worth getting involved in :)
