What Kind of Nerdfighter Are You?
Written Language
About Me:
A goofy redhead who manages to keep busy without actually accomplishing much.
Some strange blend of Grace Kelly, Lucille Ball, and Anne Shirley.
A ballroom dancer and frustrated writer nursing a strange infatuation with words.
A magnet for accidents who can smile through just about everything (just so long as she can go home and cry for a bit).
Taking the journey one step at a time (each step earning a place in the Ministry of Funny Walks).
Constant and contradictory all at the same time, 100% hypoallergenic and additive-free!
Favorite Books, Movies, Music, and more
Well, the Bible... but that's kind of obvious if you know me at all. Some of my favorite passages include Deuteronomy 30, the book of Ecclesiastes, the book of Job, Isaiah 6:9-13, Psalm 18, Paul's letters... and so on...

And to the non-Bible books...
Just about anything by Madeline L'Engle, Shel Silverstein, and Dr. Seuss.

The day Shel Silverstein died (I was in fifth grade), my mom was afraid to tell me. So, she had the school librarian tell me instead.

I also really like (in no particular order):
-the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling (gee, never heard that before)
-the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer
-the Thursday Next series by Jasper Fforde (though I've only read the first three books so far)
-the books about Anne Shirley (of Anne of Green Gables fame... though I admit I haven't read all of them)
-the Uglies series by Scott Westerfield (I've only read Uglies, Pretties, and part of Specials thus far)
-"On Writing" by Steven King (though I don't care for his other books)
-Emily Dickenson's poetry
-The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis
-the Flowers in the Attic series by V.C. Andrews (saddest books I've ever read).
-pretty much anything by Randy Alcorn
-If You Give a Mouse a Cookie and If You Give a Moose a Muffin by Laura Numeroff
-Stargirl and Maniac McGee by Jerry Spinelli
-The Wayside School series, Holes, There's a Boy in the Girl's Bathroom, Someday Angeline, Dogs Don't Tell Jokes, and The Boy Who Lost His Face by Louis Sachar
-The Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket (I still have two books to read in this series)
-Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging by Louise Rennison (and I assume I'll like the rest of the Georgia Nicholson series when I get to reading it)
-Freckles by Gene Stratton Porter
-the millions of books from Klutz press
-The Uncle John's Bathroom Reader series
-Baby Name books (I have a weird mini-obsession with names)
-Dear Mr. Henshaw by Beverly Cleary
-Walking the Bridge of Your Nose, with poems selected by Michael Rosen
-The American Girl books
-The Amelia's Notebook series by Marissa Moss
-Absolutely Normal Chaos by Sharon Creech
-The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick
...umm... I know there's more but my mind is going blank.

Oh... I really like Dave Barry, too. I read one of his books, and I didn't even like the story, but I couldn't put it down because I loved the way he wrote.

They're technically not books, but I read a lot of comic strips and have some anthologies at home. My favorites are:
-Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Waterson
-Peanuts by Charles Schultz
-Family Circus by Bill Keane
-Speed Bump by Dave Coverly
-BC by Johnny Hart

(If you'd like to keep up with the fifty books in 2008 challenge I'm taking part in, check out my wordpress blog!)
What's your favorite thing to put on your head?
Generally scarves, hats, large silk flowers, headbands, and other things of the like.
If you could do your happy dance with anyone who would it be with?
A really, really, really good ballroom dancer.

11 - Microsoft Word fails at grammar.

So, I'm writing away, working on Open Book (the working title of my attempt at a novel), and that green zig-zaggy line appears. I right-click to see what is the matter, and... (you'll have to click on the picture... trust me, it's worth it!)

Hahahahahahahaha!

So, I finally decided to bite the bullet and start writing with no idea where I'm going. Ahh! Scary! I'm about 1500 wor

7 - Let's be nice.

So, I vlogged about this a few days ago, and then proceeded to take the vlog down due to it's incredible emo-ness. But, I still think it's a valid point.

When John posted his "puppy-sized elephant" vlog, I was talking to some of the other nerdfighters in the comments. One person said something along the lines of "I'm sorry, but this is my favorite video", and I replied to that comment asking why he apologized. Nothing mean, rude, hurtful, or even annoying, as far as I could tell.

Haha thanks :o)
And yes, The Wizard Of Oz terrifies me (I honestly do mute the TV and close my eyes whenever the Wicked Witch is on the screen... I think it's her nose, or her voice... or her pointy hat... or quite possibly the fact that she is green -shudders- and don't even get me started on the monkeys and munchkins, they're just plain evil!)

I'm sure I was going to say something but I got distracted reading your favourite book list and I've forgotten now. :oP

I thought I was the only one who had a thing for reading baby name books! (which is weird obsession for me considering I don't really want kids) I just love finding out the meanings and origins of the names... s'fun. :o)
