My name is Ashley and although I have been an avid watcher of the vlogbrother videos and have considered myself a nerdfighter for many years, I am new to the ning.

I'm learning the ins and outs and have never really been part of a forum community before, or really anything like this, but I'm excited to expand my nerdfighting.

Well, since I'm clearly blind, I did not know we had this blog option til pretty much now. So, I'm Alex! I'm 19 and studying East Asian Languages and Cultures. Yes, I'm a bit of nerd of languages. I absolutely love learning foreign language. Fan of Doctor Who, Sherlock, Once Upon a Time, and many other TV shows. I'm also a lover of anime and manga.

Davy Jones of the Monkees has passed away. :'(

I quite like the Monkees, their music has appealed to me at an early age, and I watched reruns of the television show The Monkees when I was a child. (I also had a huge crush on Davy Jones even after I found out that he was actually pretty old...this is even funnier because my mother also had had a crush on him when she was my age) 

He was 66 and died of a heart attack...what a way to go.

In my opinion, Racists, and Homophobes are less than people. They are narrow-minded, lack empathy or sympathy, and are obstinate in their ways. But am I not the same for having this opinion? Those who are racist judge others based on a simple detail, like the colour of their skin, however those who are not racist, judge them for this judgement. Is it not just as narrow minded? We say everyone is entitled to their way of life, and their opinion, and yet we are filled with rage towards this…

Well mainly, it is my plea for help.

I'm an 18 year old nerdfighter/student and this summer I'm going to be going to Thailand (hopefully) to help orphaned and abandoned elephants for a month. But I need some help getting there!
