I was watching some videos on youtube the other day when I came across this comment that said "America should be nuked".
What's so bad about us?
Yeah, our government sucks. Yeah, we have really stupid people. Yeah, we have attacked other countries(but only because they attacked us or our allys first! Not including the Korean War. That was stupid).
Every country has stupid people, a lot of countries have(argueably) stupid government, and every country attacks…

Girl Scout Cookies and LGBT Youth
Hi, my name is Leah and I am a senior girl scout. I have been in girl scouts for nearly ten years and I can safely say that girl scouts is my second family. Girl Scout Cookie season is again upon us. I would like to reach out to all Nerdfighters to encourage you to buy a box when you see girls selling in front of stores or door to door. Girl Scouts is one of the few groups which focus on kids but also are in full support of LGBT rights. LGBT parents are allowed…

Tell Me Who I Am
After recently finding out that my second short story "Fire" was going to be published in my school's literary journal, I was asked to write a 50 word bio to be included with the story. Having complete faith in my fiction, but none in my ability to talk about myself in the third person, I decided to get some help.
You.
That's right, you have the chance to decide just how I am going to be perceived by a group of hundreds...OK, more like a hundred people, maybe, who read the…

Lizzing. Is that a verb now? I saw it on a shirt I think.
Hi.
I'm really excited to be part of this. REALLY excited. I haven't been watching Hank and John for very long, but I love this entire... culture? It's really quite fantastic. My friends in the year below me are writing arguemntative essays and I remember one about the value of smart people in society. That's what this reminds me of. Like, I'm sure the decepticons are great at whatever it is they do, but having the brains rocks and it seems like only the people who have them…

As of Today (today is capitilized because I felt like it), I need to simplify my life. The easy way to do this is go get rid of a bunch of extra-curriculars. Drop out of something, quit something else, and just make my life that much easier. But it's much more difficult than that, because I was raised with the "You do not quit anything ever" attitude that makes my parents' lives (as well as my own) so busy and barely manageable. We all tend to put more things on our plate of life until…

First Blog- Kind of
Right now (in this hour, in this minute, in this second) I am procrastinating. I am rather good at this- I've been doing it for hours! I have some stupid Africa physical map that's due tomorrow and I haven't even started it. It's 7:43 pm. I'm kinda screwed. But you know, I'm still gonna procrastinate. I just don't want to do my work!
I…

I am a Planner.
Sometimes an obsessive one. I also have this take-charge attitude. I have a really hard time taking instructions from people that I'm on a peer level with. I can listen to my boss just fine, but if someone on the same level or below me tries to tell me what to do (especially if I feel like I'm being told I'm an idiot because I'm a girl and I don't necessarily do things the easy way), I get really upset. I take things personally. Especially when plans don't go my way. If I have the…

Why Vlogging Is Awesome And Everyone Should Try It!
Hello there reader, my name is Ryan Murphy and I just wanted to make some points as to why vlogging is an amazing thing to be doing these days. I've had a YouTube account for almost five years now, but it wasn't until a year ago on the 20th of February that I actually started vlogging. I think it does take a lot to get going in the first place, but it's so worth starting. So, what of it..? Well, I don't think I'll stop vlogging anytime soon! It has been one of the most fun, rewarding…

Book Review: The Ask and the Answer, by Patrick Ness (***SPOILER ALERT***)
Okay, so my friend who I borrowed these books from warned me that they would probably destroy me, and after I read the first one I was like, well, it was amazing, and it made me cry a lot and it was stressful and stuff, but it didn't destroy me. I was actually thinking wow, I'm going to survive this.
But then this book happened.
And how wrong I was.
The second book is amazing, don't get me wrong. Perhaps more amazing than the first one,…
