Another day, another blog. Well, let's get on to the threads!
What does it take?
My actual feature this week goes to a discussion of what it takes to be a nerdfighter. Sometimes we can get caught up in our general biases and forget that nerdfighters can come in all shapes, sizes, colors, religious beliefs, political leanings, ages, species, etc. So what, when you boil out all the extra fluff, what… Continue
I have to apologize for not providing you with proper book reviews. Life has gotten crazy lately--lots of family deaths and emergencies. Please forgive me for not holding up my end of the bargain here. Also, feel free to send me any books that you would like to recommend/feature/discuss. I am open to ideas!
As part of my apology, I would like to offer you with this link which I think you will all enjoy:… Continue
Title: Speak
Author: Laurie Halse Anderson
Page Count: 197
Status: New book
Synopsis: Melinda Sordino busted an end-of-summer party by calling the cops. Now her old friends won't talk to her, and people she doesn't even know hate her from a distance. But there's something she's trying not to think about, something about the night of the party that, if she let it in, would blow her carefully constructed disguise to smithereens.
It's Thursday again, and this week I don't have the excuse of being abroad. :) I could claim that I'm still overwhelmed by the Awesome of last week, but honestly, that has only given me more energy for this stuff. It was bloody Awesome! More about the NEA later in this blog.
Look at me still talking when there's science to do pictures to… Continue
The above photograph is the real reason my hands were red...though I got a bit on me when I was painting Scuzzy Kizoozle's face and hands. But the photoshoot for the thumbnail is what really got me messy.
Thanks to Paige, Lysh and Kevin for their musical stylings! It was HAAAARD to get it to all work in final cut, especially because it hates working with formats other than quicktime (hence the watermarks.) But it was… Continue
I'm not sure how many of you know about this... but I thought I should write a little something about it to get the word out. It's surely something a bunch of you will find interesting! =)
As most of you know, Alan and Hank started a record label a little ways back. However, some of you may not know about what is known as the DFTBA Radio Hour. Basically what this show consists of is Cait (MimsieSky) and Todd (Toddly00) talking about all kinds of random… Continue

The nerdfighters who heroically ate Peeps for Bangladesh to save me from certain sugar poisoning: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9urhA...
In which John discusses eating Peeps for Bangladesh, asks someone to Prom, shares some amazing nerdfightastic photographs from the ning, and shares gratuitous footage of his Westie… Continue
Katherine and I blew through this one pretty fast after figuring out that I'd done some of these same things in the Nerdfighter scavenger hunt. It also helped that I played old videos games and katherine loves good poetry.
The story at the end of these things is getting cooler and cooler...it feels like it's just getting started...though I'm starting to get annoyed that so much seems so… Continue
You know what sucks? Mondays (well, most people tend to think so anyway...)!
You know what doesn't suck? Videos by Nerdfighters!
To help decrease Monday suck levels, I'm posting a fresh batch of videos made by Nerdfighters over the past week!
I hope you enjoy them, and you should definitely check out the channels, subscribe if you like what you see, and go leave them comments on their videos and channels! :)
At the Amsterdam Gathering last thursday I got John to sign a DUTCH copy of Paper Towns that I want to give to a unlucky Nerdfighter that wasn't there. So! Do you want it?
Drop me an email at iwantpapertowns@gmail.com of tweet me @turtlebulb. All names go into a metaphorical hat and I'll randomly pick a winner on April 10th. I'll send it to the winner the next day!
Spread the word! Oh, and good luck to those who enter!
It's Thursday again, but unfortunately I'm not here. I am currently in Amsterdam, (at least today) the most Awesome city in the world. Luckily for you, however, I found some magical way to post and feature this blog. I'm probably going to rely on my fellow Ningmasters to feature the pictures I chose in the side bar though.
Enough chatting, here are the featured pictures:…
