It's Thursday again! The end of the school year is approaching. My schedules are messed up and I have loads of work, but tomorrow is Labour Day (which we ironically celebrate by taking the day off) so I found time to feature images this week.
Okay, so apparently, it's not truly an acronym unless we pronounce it "duft-ba." Leave it to nerdfighters (hoo-hah!) to call out other nerdfighters when we've been incorrectly identifying our nerdfighter lingo as an acronym! :)
In case you missed the discussion that Chip featured, here's another link to it: Acronym vs. Initialism
I have been… Continue
Just got off the line with a Swiss Nerdfighter who is doing her thesis on Nerdfighteria. But She needs help! She needs as many nerdfighters as possible to fill out this (really short, really easy) survey.
So! If you could do that, that would be fantastic, and Beatrice and I would both greatly appreciated it!
When I started watching B20 about two years ago, and saw Hank's Nerdfighter requirements episode, I knew that I needed to complete these tasks to fulfill my duty as a nerdfighter. And told my friend this immediately, who had already seen all the videos up until that point (I was playing catch up) because I was wondering about her song, and she told me that I needn't worry, and than you didn't actually need to do that. Now, when people ask how to become a nerdfighter, we say "Well, if you want… Continue
*So you won't actually perish, but what does it hurt you to take part in a few friendly nerdfightastic conversations? Yup, that's what I thought.
Featured Thread: Nerdfighter Greeting
There have been threads about this before (and I might've even featured one, but I can't remember. I don't think so though) and I happen to think we need to figure this out. We need an official… Continue
Come hang out with me THIS MONDAY (April 27th) at 4 PM at the Elizabeth Public Library (11 South Broad Street) in Elizabeth, New Jersey.
On June 3rd, I'll be at the bookstore Kinokuniya at 7 PM. It will be awesome. Also if you're planning to come to the Melbourne AU event but couldn't get a ticket, IT WILL BE OKAY I promise. We're going to add another event JUST FOR YOU.
In which John makes a Saturday video, answering questions about zebras,… Continue
Another Thursday has arrived and this week I reached the end of the archives. I found more images than I will feature this week, so I'll have plenty for next week. The week after that will become more difficult. I'm still a bit sick, but I'm almost done taking antibiotics.
Anyway, on with the show!…

Hey John,
I just learned that Hugh Jackman has agreed to donate 100,000$ to an organization/charity. Even though the Uncultured Project is technically neither I think if we get the nerdfighters involved with sending tweets to him (which is how he is going to decide) it may be possible to get him to donate. It might not work, but it's a fair idea. I wouldn't have thought it possible until nerdfighters got Aston Kutcher to follow you on… Continue
...but, here are some videos anyway!
Southern California, as well as the most of the West Coast, is experiencing a heat wave right now. It's ridiculously hot today (the temperature neared triple digits here!), and this weather is making it difficult to concentrate on finding videos to feature, because I feel like my brain is melting.
I mean, it's only April! If anything, I should be singing "April Showers," or "Singin' in the Rain" (that is, if I were to be forced, for… Continue
In which John learns that Ashton Kutcher is following him on Twitter, that Peter Yarrow is really nice, and that marriages can begin inside of elephants--all in one weekend. My…Continue
My friend and I are planning a summer long road trip of camping and relaxation this summer, and I thought it might be a cool idea to meet some local nerd fighters along the way! This is just kind of a spur of the moment idea so I was wondering if anyone here would be interested in participating, or would like to see videos of the tour posted here.
Let's not dilly dally, on to the threads! (I have never before used "Dilly dally" in my life, I promise).
Feature of the Week: What are you fighting for?
As a nerdfighter, what are you fighting for? I'm fighting for equality, tolerance, and the overcoming of backwards ignorance.
These go to the tune of that proud to be an american song
I'm proud to be a nerdfighter
Where at least I know I'm free
And I won't forget John or Hank
Who gave that right to me
And I gladly stand up
next to you
And defend the ning today
Cuz there ain't no doubt I love the Greens
God Bless and D F T B A!
Now, while I normally prefer more literary and/or young adult reads, this week we are going to talk about a book called Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Jane Austen (of course) and Seth Grahame-Smith. Although, I doubt that Ms. Austen and Seth knew each other. Unless, you consider intertextuality in which case Seth really does know Jane and since we, as a reader, know both Seth and Jane, then we all know eachother. No,… Continue
As, I'm sure, you're all aware, it is Thursday which means I have to blog about pictures. I've been a bit ill lately, but nothing is going to stop me from Ningmaster-blogging. (Not even if I have to do it at 3 am). A lot of DFTBA visualisations popped up this week after Hank asked for them. I decided that, seeing as Hank was going to use the best ones in his 'project' anyway, I don't really have to feature them.… Continue
