A Great Perhaps

Hello Nerdfighters,

My name is Caite and I am a writer.

Now, I'm not a published author, not by any means....wellllll I'm published on FanFiction and Tumblr. I just wanted to say hello.

I am an avid reader of John's books and I must say he is brilliant (I'm not sucking up mind you). One quote stuck out to me.

"I go to seek a Great Perhaps."

This has got to be one of my favorite quotes from this book.…

another story,feedback?

Mortimer Shea sat in his study on that rainy afternoon, the smoke from his pipe curling up and filling the room with it's sweet smell.  He watched the drops of water collect on the leaves of a flower sitting in the box outside.  he looked thoughtfully at the flower and made a mental note to ask Miss Delia what kind of flower it was.  It reminded him of his childhood in Barbados, such lovely flowers there, he recalled. There was a knock on the door and he turned to watch as a bright,…

So I'm thinking about becoming an active Nerdfighter: First Post Here

Warning: Here's my incredible insecure post that I don't even believe truly belongs here but I'm just trying out to get a feel of this all and the response towards this. Be real, but don't rip me a new hole. I only want my ears pierced once each. And here. we. go.

"I thought you didn't like labels."

Lady, who are you to tell me what I like. "I think I changed my mind."

I used to not label myself. Well, I used to not do a lot of things. I used to promote family and…

John is so Good at Words

Almost every time I watch a John video he makes me think hard about my life, where I'm headed and what the heck I'm supposed to do. He words things so beautifully, yet so personably (is that a word? Chrome says no, so I'll tell you what I mean: he weaves words together like kimono makers create beautiful designs of trees and birds that look insanely real, but the sentences sound like they're coming from a person who wants everyone to understand what they're trying to say just like the kimono…

It has come to my attention..

It has come to my attention that I really need to see the movie "Matrix". I remembered wanting to see it when I was little but my mom wouldn't let me.. It has also come to my attention that I have not done a lot of things people my age have already experienced. For example: I've never gone to play laser tag (but have always wanted to), I've never had a boyfriend, I've never gone out with my friends without an adult watching (restricting) my every move.. all these things (and many others) make… Continue

Hello! :)

Hi, I'm Oscar. I'm 13 years old. My first blog post is going to be myself trying to justify to you why I think I would make a good Nerdfighter.

I love to learn, and I can remember things quite well. I'm teaching myself Spanish and Italian online, and I'm really into video games, specifically old ones that just seem more nerdy. For example, I like to play Tetris and Space Invaders, but I also like to play Super Mario 64 and the Sly Raccoon games. Although I think that Super…

Angie Reads New Moon - Chapters 20 and 21

ALMOST THERE!!!!!  I only have 4 chapters and an epilogue left before I can put this book behind me and move on to a new one.  It looks as if the next book in the Angie Reads Stuff series will be Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte...I had to read in in 11th grade English and it drove me mad.  Regardless, the newest episode of New Moon is now up on YouTube, but thanx to embedding you can watch it right here on this blog post :).  You can enjoy all of the disappointments this… Continue

My Classes: A Final Look Back

I realized as I was looking through my blogs that I never posted my final thoughts on my classes for last semester. So, I'm doing it now. First, my original opinion, and then what I think of it now.

"Performance Studies: This class seems fun. We have already talked about performing and acting and the differences between the two and I think it will be enjoyable. Not too happy about performing in front of the class by myself, but other than that, I think I will enjoy this…

Nerdfighter Doing Awesome...

So there is a Nerdfighter trying to do some awesome right now!She made a video for ALS. If you don't know what that is, it is explained in the video. Basically she needs your help to raise money for ALS patients. What she wanted to do was get 100 subscribers by January 19th, 2012 [her birthday] and ask that everyone of those 100 subscribers to donate two U.S. dollars to the cure for ALS. Giving it a total of 200 U.S. dollars [and the 100 she'll be contributing making it a new total of 300].…

Scruffy Nerf Herder...

As I expect you guys to figure it out by now - I am quite the Star Wars fan. I am also a big fan of the site Honestly, if I had the money, I would buy almost every product on there.

I am a big Wars fan - and while I watch the occasional TNG episode, my heart will always belong to Solo. Anyway, today I bring you a new item featured on - and considering it's one of my favorite scenes from Episode IV - well lets just say this makes me extremely happy:… Continue

Dreams of Post-Graduation

Recently I've been thinking a lot about what I will do when I graduate from college next year.

I don't want to be trapped in my home town like my parents are. They haven't been many places and I don't think they ever will. I want to see the world. I want to visit historical places (Chernobyl has been at the top of my list all quarter because of my Atomic Cinema class) and I want to be able to show my children (if I decide to have them) pictures of myself at the places I…

New Music Interst and Stuff...

I had a blog on a different website, and I used to leave three periods after the title [like above], to show a continuation. I think that's what I'll do here as well.

The reason for this blog post is quite simple, I have a new favorite song. Its not what most people who 'know' me would think I would listen to. Not for stupid reasons,…

Older Than Gravity In Bruges: Thoughts from Places

In which John Green visits Bruges (or as the Belgians and Dutch call it, Brugge) for a day, seeing the famous Belfort and other beautiful buildings along the way before meeting up with Nerdfighters from all over Belgium (and Germany and France). Along the way, he thinks about living amid history and what (if anything) we owe those who have died and those who will later be born. This video is part of a series called "Thoughts from… Continue

Oh Childhood...

Who didn't love Peanuts cartoon strips? Honestly?
They were just amazing, to the point - just classic. I was always a fan of "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown!"
One of my favorite parts of Halloween. One of these days I will go to the Schulz Museum.
So today, I bring you an image of said Peanuts.

I am writing a book!  (spoilers will be made here!)  However, my plot is at a bit of an impasse because I cannot decide if my female lead will a) get over here obsession with saving water and live happily ever after or b) succumb to her hysteria disorder and end up killing my main character and/or herself and/or all the people that live with them on their post apocalyptic farm.

Basic plot: there's this guy that lives on Whidbey Island after a government or terrorist…
