In which John discusses Stephenie Meyer's Twilight Saga in both its book and film form, discussing the Twilight phenomenon in a way that will surely anger both Twihards and the series' detractors, thus infuriating everyone and pleasing no one. Also discussed: vampires; Edward Cullen, his hotness; Jacob Black, his torso; romantic relationships, why adults shouldn't have them with teenagers; reading; books; and true love, a beautiful… Continue
Well before we highlight some recent discussion posts in the forum we need to have a little talk. First off I want to say how thankful all of us ningmasters are for everyone's involvement in the forums we're all happy we have so many people active in it. With that said there some issues that must be addressed. You most certainly don't have to agree with everyone and you have right to disagree with someone on the forums considering that's the purpose of the forums to create conversation but we… Continue
Happy Friday, Nerdfighters! (sorry, I was watching FlawedArtist before). I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday or a wonderful Thursday if your not in America. But back to what's important, books. A couple of weeks ago I started requesting Young Adult book reviews from fellow Nerdfighters and a couple of you complied. Before I get into those reviews let me just mention that the next Nerdfighter reviews will be for Science Fiction books (not Fantasy, that will probably come later… Continue
How now, Nerdfighters? Hank and John both have been very awesome over the years. I mean, hello? You wouldn't be reading this blog right now without them. So, what better way to celebrate Ye Olde Stuff Your Face/GOBBLE Day than showing how nerdfighters take Hank and John's own awesome and make it slightly more freaking fantastic? You know. It's an homage thing.…
I was going through the blogs from this past week and have noticed you guys haven't been posting many blogs. You all must be on vacation and too busy getting ready for thanksgiving! Perhaps after you all finish up NaNoWriMo and eat your turkey you will be back to posting regularly on the ning. =] I'm giving you all another week. Get on the posting, nerdfighters!
So I thought I would just take this post to thank you all for being so awesome. Mostly what… Continue
First of all sorry for the whole lateness of the blog, was gonna do it yesterday but well as you can guess that didn't work out as planned.
OK so whats happened in the chat recently that is the most important is some more people went there rather than just the regulars this is always always great and I hope more people visit us in the chat. For those of ye who never noticed it its on the bottom right of the window.... well it should be anyway. It took me months on the sight… Continue
It has been an interesting past couple of days, I would say. With thirty votes, Edgar Allan Poe is the next duck to be made. If time and technology permits, I will make a video of the entire process from sculpting to painting and everything in between.
In other news, there was a convention called Super MegaFest in Framingham, MA this past weekend. It's kind of like a mini Comic-Con. There were a lot of cool people there and a ton of… Continue
In which John discusses Hank's impending punishment in the context of Thierry Henry's hand ball in the lead-up to a goal in Ireland and France's World Cup Qualifier. (I am not a die-hard Ireland supporter or anything; I just like fair play.) The "Are the new viewers gone yet" is… Continue
Hello again everyone! Sorry for the late Saturday post, there simply are not enough hours in the day… and even fewer if it’s a workday. I’m not entirely sure if anybody notices my tardiness. Anyways, I have some interesting threads for you in addition to a few reminders and other cool stuff.
So I know many of you attended a Tour De Hank event already, and have loads of pictures of the festivities! Upload them, and show off the Nerdfighter awesomeness! Alternatively, post a blog and… Continue
First things first, have you read a good Young Adult Fiction book lately? If you said yes, write a review (about a paragraph... nothing to long) and send it to; email@example.com and then I'll compile a blog post with a bunch of nerdfighter reviews. This way you get a variety of opinions and not just my extremely biased opinion.
Also, the blurbing book club is still reading, "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" by Ken Kesey until the end of November. Make sure to read,… Continue
Hello again! Nerdfighters are quite the team when comes to tracking down information, people, or books. Gus is a Bug was no exception, but some nerds answered to the extreme call of duty and drew illustrations or comics. These are their stories...pictures...damn it, SVU!
A book has to have a cover. Otherwise, it's illegal to sell. DUN DUN DUN. Also, do…
I assume you notice that I have missed a week. To make along story short things were just a little to crazy and I just wasn't able to make my post last week. Sorry about that guys! I still have, however, been checking in on the Ning.
A lot of you guys are focused on Nano and as much as I could love to feature a bunch of Nano content, it would be unfair to feature some and not all of it. Because you guys are really awesome writers and it's just all so… Continue
In which John answers real questions from real nerdfighters, discussing why he hates unicorns, secret siblings, the Serbian version of his books, who the eff Hank is, and the illusion that a discount is the same thing as free money.
(So sorry about messing up earlier- The right poll is now in place.)
It has been ridiculously busy over here the last week or so between designing Star Trek money, building a typewriter out of computer bits, and creating a Bob Ross cereal box.* As a result, I don't have a picture of Dr. Frank-N-Furter as of yet. He has a coat of paint drying as I type this, and hopefully he will be finished by Wednesday at the very latest.
