As the steam rose from the showers behind me, I allowed myself another glance at the wall of mirrors. The foggy glass just made my face seem as vague as I felt behind it. There was silence. I could hear the showers running, but I felt as alone in that bathroom as I did in my own head.
I was tempted, at first, to go up to the mirror and place my hand on it, to see if I could maybe fall through. Everything would be backwards; maybe even the people. As the multitude of this thought struck me,… Continue

And that is saying something... I mean i usually have the most boring of New Years Eve's as possible, they would be tepid affairs with just my parents and two brothers celebrating it at home with some sparkling wine or something. A prime example of the dullness and spectacular fails of my usual New Years party was the turning of the Millennium, wherein the first words i heard that year were from my Grandfather who said and i quote 'What a load of rubbish...'
Wow. 2008 went by pretty fast, yet there was..a lot of crap that happened XD
Happy birthday to me? I'm one year closer to doing all sorts of legal adult stuff. Like drinking! Hahaha :)
Birthdays used to make me depressed. I'm all right with it right now, but it still feels sort of weird thinking about how fast the future's coming (which I guess is sort of redundant to say, but you get what I mean :P). In a couple of years, I could be halfway around the world, winning some random award… Continue

Last year I traveled to Chicago with only $40 to spend for two and a half days and had a lifetime's worth of experiences that I will hold in the deepest, darkest and most elightened caverns of my heart.
Last year I was fired from my dream job and then hired to take care of an age group of kids that I have long feared but have taken on with a considerable amount of grace (if I do say so myself).
So here it is, new years eve. I think 2008 went well. I overcame some problems i had been having. I am still surviving college. Making new friends! Life is stressful but i think I've learned this year that you have to roll with the punches! I have had my heart broken twice this year, the first one almost completely unbearable. I felt physically sick from it. However, I am entering 2009 single, and am perfectly happy with that. Well, not perfectly happy.lol. I am excited to see what the new year… Continue

I've done NaNoWriMo twice now. I've written another 50,000 word novella besides that. And if I added up all the words in the many, many files of unfinished work stored on my iMac...well, it's just too many words to bother with counting. But this Christmas has topped them all. In five days of vacation, I've accumulated over 30,000 words of new material. That's just the stuff I save. Not the time I spend writing blog entries, and commenting, and posting to boards on the internet. Today I sat down… Continue

So. We all know there are ways to annoy people at a cinema, right?
Well, now there are a few ways to annoy them at a certain movie!
1) Argue with someone in the theater about why Edward is better than Jacob, while the movie is playing,
2) Throw popcorn at the people in front of you..
3) Then tell them the werewolves told you to.
4) When Edward comes on the screen, Yell, "OH MY GOD! IT'S EDWARD CULLEN! EVERYBODY BOW DOWN TO HIS AWESOMENESS!"
5) When Jacob…Continue

As everyone probably knows Christmas has recently passed. I received a gift in the form of a collection of Star Trek PEZ despencers. The origional cast of The Enterprise in the form of Pez despencers. So I'm sitting here on the Ning and at the same time I'm eating lemon Pez out of Captain Kirk's head. (And to answer the question I know you all want to know the answer to; yes. Pez does taste better when eaten out of a Star Trek charecters head.) So anyway, I'm sitting here and I'm thinking,… Continue

I was gonna make a post when it was, like.... still Christmas... That didn't happen. Anyway, I swear that this is the first year I've ever seen black Santas. I saw... 2, but still. (jeez, what is it with me and "..."s today??) Um, yeah. That's all. I just thought it was amusing that I've never ever even heard of black Santas before I read Paper Towns, and the Xmas after, I finally see 'em... Isn't that how it always is, though? Well, with me it is...
pictures of people keep you company. not just pictures, voices too. the person doesn't need to be there, they don't need to know who you are, a face can keep you sane.
I browse magazines a lot. let us say "compensatory" magazine. Magazines to compensate for that which i lack in my life. that is all the definition i shall give on that object. I browse them mostly for the pictures, but there are words too. the subject of the words generally don't stretch much further than the subject… Continue
So i've been really busy lately... i decided a couple days ago that i was really unsatisfied with my current situation so to make things better and get me to be a little more active around the house I'd re-arrange my room, clean it, and get rid out a lot of things i don't need in there anymore, and then organize it all. Which has turned out to be a big project, but I'm looking forward to the feeling of a fresh start before the new year arrives.
