youtube-ness & other-ness

a while ago i decided it would be fun to make a youtube show of my own. this made me think "what could i possible put on youtube that people would like to watch?" and after watching Philly D's video on "how to become famous on youtube" i decided the only thing I am good at that could translate in youtuber awesomeness is cooking. after consulting my friend Renee, we decided to make a cooking show of our own. this is proving to be a little difficult since our first attempt was awkward and i… Continue

Hot DAMN

Yesterday I started building a model-box set for the play "Moony's Kid Don't Cry" by Tennessee Williams, which is the practical assessment for this semester of my course at University! The presentation as in two hours! (10 o'clock GMT)

I'm pretty please to say I am DAMN NEAR FINISHED. And it doesn't look all bad. Hooray! Here's hoping the presentation goes well!

In Which Dark Forces Are Arrayed Against the Author, and Are Eventually Vanquished.

I, like many nerdfighters I'm sure, have a dark side. There are times when I struggle with depression, or negative thoughts about myself. Deep stuff, from childhood, mostly, when I was a 'nerd' and not yet comfortable with myself or being different and so on.

One of the things that has profoundly altered my life, of course, is having my son, Jack. My father was a remarkable man, very loving, but after I was about 12 years old, it became hard for us to talk. And I worry about that. I… Continue

My Awesome [19th] Birthday.

Today is my 19th Birthday. I have tons of fun things planned, such as a two hour Biology Lab, one hour Biology Lecture and also an hour of Statistics in lecture form. In this particular case, my "Shift" is from 1500-2000, rendering any hopes I had of going out to a nice family dinner today with my family essentially impossible. That's OK though, because we are rain-checking until Sunday night, which is great because it makes my birthday celebrations last longer. Another thing that lengthens the… Continue

Alright, Fellas; let's rolllllllll!

My life has been rather music-centered lately, whether it be Ballroom Blitz on Rock Band, Try A Little Priest from Sweeney Todd, or just my general listening of Radiohead and They Might Be Giants. All of this is fine and dandy, except I broke my drum pedal for Rock band, which occured after a three-hour spree of drumming; luckily, there is nothing that duct tape cannot fix.

Otherwise, I'm just working on adjusting to my new schedule for the semester. My classes are great, and they're… Continue

Flat Stanley Project

My seven year old is doing a "Flat Stanley" project for class. www.flatstanleyproject.net/

He draws a picture of himself as Flat Stanley and sends his paper doll self off on an adventure in the mail. Host families and friends take Flat Lucas around the town and journal a bit for him, preferably with pictures, and send him on again. Eventually Flat Lucas makes it home and…

Dead Like Me?

Anyone out in the nerd universe also a fan of the cancelled Showtime series Dead Like Me? It plays occasionally these days on the Sci Fi network..but is heavily edited as the original contains lots of graphic death scenes and profanity, but man oh man, it was hillarious! The show, in a nutshell, is about people who have died in some bizarre ways ( the focus is on Georgia Lass, a young college-dropout who was killed by a flying…

Otakon

After 2 years of saying Im going to Otakon and ending up not going, I am determined to actually GO this year!

After careful consideration of who I want to cosplay, I have come down with 3 characters:

1) Talim from the Soul Calibur games

2) Fuu from Samurai Champloo

3) Yatsuha from Samurai Champloo (Bogus Bootie episode)

My reasons?

1) I actually look like Talim and she kicks ass!

2) Fuu is awesome; although she wears a pink kimono...

3) Yatsuha is a… Continue

Forgot to be awesome...

My little Nerdfighter, Aidan, is 5 years old and in Kindergarten. When I went to pick him up yesterday, his teacher pulled me aside to tell me he had argued with someone in the block corner and it ended up with Aidan pushing another child.

I was shocked and angry that my little Nerdfighter would act so aggressively.

In the car, I asked him about why he would do such a thing to a friend.

He looked at me and in all… Continue

The first entry, in which Danica tells us about ballet shoes, high school, and being a minority...

Hello folks and friends,

I've decided to start keeping a blog, because it's something I haven't done in a couple years, and it helps me avoid doing Chemistry homework.

THIS BLOG ENTRY COMES IN THREE PARTS.

PART ONE: BALLET SHOES

Now as some of you may know, I'm a dancer. I have been for many years. I lurves it. A bit before Christmas during our…

The Awesome-ness of the Ning!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Ning, is the most jokes thing in the whole world. You really get to know your fellow Nerdfighters, because we all have a little picture and our own profile. Then you start to see that little picture in different places and you're like "Hey I remember you! You're a Ravenclaw and you like putting your cat on your head!" And then it's more like you know that person, and they aren't just some little blue hyperlink who wrote something funny in a comment.

(I do think Hank should have… Continue

The Catcher in the Rye

ok, so tomorrow I have to write an in class essay on The Catcher in the Rye. Excpet, I didn't know this until Monday. So I started the book this morning (yay for procrastination!) So anyway, I read the first chapter in my choir class, and I was like OMG this reminds me so much of Looking for Alaska. Then I went over to my friend who also loves his books (but sadly is not a NF) and was like "OMG this book is so much like Looking For Alaska!" and she looked at me and was like "... Yeah. If you… Continue

Flag Football

Yay. We just got the news today. My 6 year old daughter is going to be a Wolverine. She wants to play football but does not want to get tackled so in all my motherly wisdom...I figured FLAG FOOTBALL will be perfect for her. We'll have to see what happens on Saturday.

My first Blog EVER!!

I feel special! I would like to thank my friend, Rikkitikki, for inviting me here and I would like to say the world is a less sucky place now that I have written my first blog! Anyway, I don't feel like turning on my computer everyday so I will be updating this every week maybe at school.

This is my last week before school starts again and I am being browbeaten into finding a job SOMEWHERE! I would like to work at a book store but the major ones that are nearby are just letting people…

Ahhh the wonders of reading!

I have been spending alot of my time on Fanfiction.net, and I read almost everything. I have myspace, it's myspace.com/savannahcullen and facebook under the name Savannah Currier

In addition to that I have Eliteskills.com under the same name as well as fanfiction.net and AIM. I love the book Twilight, and I have made it my personal Bible for the time being; Stephenie Meyer is a genius!

I write alot of poetry, and surprisingly I'm good at it! I got published, and I…

WARS, MENOPAUSE, AND HILARY CLINTON.

the prospect of hilary clinton ever running this country just ruins my life.
