Can anyone see the bald girl? Please comment /:

The candied coated over sugared phrases melted and seeped through the phone line congratulating me on my lymph nodes being 85% smaller, I couldn't help but want to be the cynical, humorous, bitch that I've know become. They were happy that I'm not going to die, at least they thought so. Most people who know me barely graze the surface of my utterly complex personality and way of being. They pick and choose the qualities of my top layer they find most appealing and then decide if I'm worthy to… Continue

I miss the way nerdfighteria used to be

I love nerdfighteria to death. I want to start with that so know one murders me after reading this blog post.

I have social anxiety, I like to sit by my self at lunch and listen to my ipod, and I always feel like people are talking behind my back. Know one understands this about me and even though I have plenty of people I could call my friends they're never quite there for me. I have the luxury of saying that I have never been bullied, however I seem to be a drama…

Who's your person?

At the end of a bad thing there's a person holding a door open into a good thing. Who's your person?

I survived the Great Internet Drought of 2012-2013.

As of two days ago, my house got Internet. For the first time since September 2012.

You got it, nerdy folk. I went through practically my entire junior year of high school in a public education system that assumes all students have Internet and assigns tasks as such.

I deserve a medal. A big one.

I had just gotten used to roughin' it at home, in the middle of no where, then BAM, we're back online, and all I wanna do is surf until I get keyboard calluses on my fingers…

Hair loss, Cancer, and Sadness. Please read and comment. Need encouragements

I'm honestly so sick and tired of not having cancer anymore, but also not having hair. I feel that now that the cancer is gone things should be normal again, but they're not. Things are far from normal. I feel ugly and weird and un-ladylike. I constantly get sympathetic stares from strangers and foreign glances from other teenage girls. I don't want to be a cancer teen anymore, because I'm not a cancer teen. I'm just not. I'm done its finished, when can I have my beautiful hair back?! When… Continue

Doctor Who is Brilliant!

For those of you who do not know, (Which seems like a ridiculous notion considering where we are, but just go with it) Doctor Who is a British sci-fi show about an alien from the race of the Time Lords of the planet of Gallifrey. This Time Lord, goes by the name 'The Doctor', travels the galaxy in a 'spaceship' (I put in quotations because it does not only travel through space, but also time) called the T.A.R.D.I.S. (Time and Relative Dimensions in Space). He always travels…

Kind-of Groundbreaking Scientific Theories!

Salvete, Nerdfighteria! Sorry about the long hiatus; life kind of got in the way. And by "life," I mean "school" and "Virtual Villagers." I was going to post this last week, but my mom kept interrupting me in the middle of it and closing down my Nerdfighters page.

So, I've been doing quite a bit of thinking lately, and some of the results of that cogitation have been three interesting scientific theories. Each one involves a not-readily-seen connection between two things that actually…

First Blog I guess

So yea. Hi. I just created an account on this and I wanted to post something so I want to start of by first of all saying tha this website is amazing! It's like the one place were I can be like YAY:3 and just say some random stuff and meet other people like that and such. So I have exams coming up for Mathematics, English and Chemistry (I go to High school in Scotland and I am moving on to my 4th year after the summer) and I have been wondering. N00b.

Okay, it's my first time posting here, so forgive me for sounding so stupid. I must admit though, becoming a nerdfighter was more awesome than I expected.

So why am I here? Why did it take so freaking long for me to make this account? Well, okay. Honestly, I only found out about the vlogbrothers recently. Yeah, I know, SHAAAME. It took me a bit longer to realize that wow, okay, these guys are definitely worth the subscribe and the stalking that comes with a new fandom. And I found…

Perfectionism and Its Discontents

Perfectionism is an insidious part of the academic culture. I've written a post on how we might start to change that. You can find the post here at my blog:

The post will be of interest to undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty alike.

Speaker for the Dead

So, I read Speaker for the Dead last night. And I have nobody to talk to about it. Haven't met anyone here like that.

Oh, by the way, I've only read Ender's Game and Speaker for the Dead. None of the other books. Yet. Therefore, I will not address any questions or doubts I have concerning why this or that happened or did not get resolved or whatever. or why it was the Little Doctor and not the bigger Doctor…

Cassiopeia

(Was going through some personal stuff, so I thought I'd write something.

Didn't think much about the title. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be glad to hear them)

"Cassiopeia," George said with a sigh, as if answering my little question took a great deal of effort, "Cassiopeia is my favorite constellation."

I looked up at the stars. They were barely visible. Light pollution, and all that.

"I…

Canadian Nerdfighters Unite!

Or you know, any other people that want to help us get a better PM next time. A bunch of my comedian friends run a website called Shit Harper Did (http://www.shd.ca/) and they need our help. Basically it just shares facts about the changes our government has quietly made that have been hurting us Economically, Ecologically and Sociologically. Basically the Harper government has raised the suck in Canada on all fronts. SHD has made a commercial…

Comment on Pottermore gets reported

I am personally very amused at the moment. On Pottermore, I have posted a comment yesterday on one of the chapters saying:

"I don't understand why people just go from chapter to chapter just collecting things instead of enjoying the experience at the same time."

Someone had the greatest idea to report my comment! It wasn' even offensive! I was just stating a fact!

Now, personally, I can't help but wonder why people do…
