Kickstarter!

So, after thinking about it for a year, planning it for months, and teaching myself video editing for two weeks, I'm ready to launch my campaign! It will go live this Friday!

Super awesome!

What's up!

Hey guys, I am the new Nerd Fighter of this, well day. And I can ensure you I am awesome for a 13 yr old. So one thing I don't get is, if the slipper fits why did it fall of in the first place? (from Cinderella if you didn't get the reference)

I play Minecraft and I have a youtube account also. I am proficient in Choir, Orchestra (Violin) and Band (Clarinet, Tenor Sax, and being Drum Major). I want to learn more instruments #NerdyMuch?

Band Camp: day two

Today went just as good as yesterday!! So full of Harry Potter. One of my friends passed out though, that was scary. We got to march today, which was great. Tomorrow it's supposed to rain, so we'll be marching in the rain, just grand.

Band Camp: day one

Okay, so our theme is Harry Potter! I get to spend three hours a day playing music from the movies this whole week, it's pretty awesome. Today we just went over the music, but it was still cool. It makes me notice that I really do miss going to school.

Hello Nerdfighteria!

This is going to be my intro blog (blog intro?) so if that's not the kind of thing you're interested in you are more than welcome to move on to something more intriguing. No hard feelings.

My name is Natasha. I'm a 21 year-old resident of British Columbia, Canada. I am a book lover. I've been reading for as long as I can remember and I will probably read until the day I die. That actually…

To start off...

... I am Verity Bate (or "vezza" if you prefer) and I'm very nearly 15 form North West England. Right at this very second I am simply typing this blog out, and afterwards I will probably play some tomb raider, eventhough it scares me sometimes, or complete a sudoku, but some of my... sorry, but I was just interuppted by the phone... anyway, as I was saying, some of my favourite past times are as follows:

I went to my friend, Gabby's, house

And she taught me how to play Big Girls Don't Cry on the guitar. And it was pretty fun. Like I've never really have shown interest in music, but I really enjoyed it. So I've been on craigslist looking for guitars to purchase and I've found a red electric guitar that looks to be in pristine condition for only 75$ and I'm thinking about buying and it teaching myself how to play. I always have so much time on my hands and I think it'll be really…

What Ever Happened to Musical Legends?

To understand what I am about to say I suggest that you go switch on the radio, and listen to what is considered music today. Listen for a while. Listen, and try to pick out the artists that will be remembered years from now as 'Legends'. You go ahead and try that....

Not very many, are there? No. There are no legends being born anymore, and it's a very sad fact. I'm not saying that all the music out there is complete crap. I'm just saying that there are not many names that…

Thing Thirty Seven

Astonishingly, this is my thirty seventh image blog on the Ning. Not that I have written image blogs on other websites, but the fact still stands, and indeed, still astounds.

"Dandy lions or dandelions?"

Oh, dandy lions for sure. Do you know what happens if you wish on a dandy lion? He eats you. -John Green

New Music Interst and Stuff...

I had a blog on a different website, and I used to leave three periods after the title [like above], to show a continuation. I think that's what I'll do here as well.

The reason for this blog post is quite simple, I have a new favorite song. Its not what most people who 'know' me would think I would listen to. Not for stupid reasons,…

Feeling Accomplished!

Reasons for feeling accomplished (and just generally happy):

  • Wrote an essay in two hours that was very successful.
  • In the process of memorizing my lines for the play I'm in.…

My awesome song from my hopefully to be album!

Okay, i have this awesome fantasy that I create a band called Of Stars and Heroes and all the people in the band have code-names that have to do with Stars or Mythological Heroes.

Our first album would be called Paradise lost and would feature the people in the band standing on a cliff looking at a sunrise. The band would look really dirty and scruffy, and below them would either be a) a ruined city or b) eden/paradise. All our album titles would be based off…

4. I have a talent for wrapping gifts, and get annoyed when people just rip open presents, ruining the time and effort I took getting the bow perfectly central.

5. I wish I could write songs. Whenever I try, it sounds like a deaf child with no…

Music, when did it lose meaning?

Now I think this might turn into a wee bit of a rant so bare with me. I get extremely annoyed whilst listening to the radio or some crappy two-bit rapper from someones phone, and a good question could be simply be... *drum roll please*... why?

Even simpler, modern day music, rap and anything else like that as such, has lost it's meaning, well if you consider getting laid, smacking yourself full of drugs or hating the world to be good meanings to carrier to younger generations then… Continue

Who really deserves to be on the radio?

I got Eddplant's new c.d. today on itunes and was listening to it, and it made me start to wonder who really deserves to be the ones singing on the radio. All of the DFTBA artists write both their lyrics and the music scores for all of their songs and have just as much if not more talent than people that we hear on the radio, so why do they not get the recognition for their hardwork.

Yes, the Sons of Admirals are getting featured on the radio in the U.K., but what about the…
