Idiotic Governance: How Our Political Discourse Hurts Our Economy

In which John discusses Canada's heroic elimination of the penny and how divisive political discourse--on both sides of the aisle--hurts both the American people and the American economy. Examples of poor policy making include congress's failure to secure long-term funding for the FAA (which should be easy, since it's paid for entirely by a tax that most travelers are more…

Alone in my mind

Have you ever had a dream that freaked you out so much you woke up crying and didn't want to go back to sleep? I just did. I have been crying on and off since I woke up, and I can't seem to want to go back to sleep. I can't quite remember it; just this feeling of aloneness, like no one cared about me ever. It wasn't that I was the only person left, Just that none of the people cared about me or even knew I existed. And I just can't shake that feeling. Even though I'm in a room full of…

The 1200% Increase in my Prescription Drug Costs

In which Hank is pissed off because the price of his prescription drugs went up 1200% in one month. So he asks nerdfighteria to write a nice letter to Roger Boissonneault at rboissonneault@wcrx.com.

If you could ask him why the price went up so much, why the program expired four months early, and why no effort was made to contact my doctor about these dramatic changes, that would be fantastic. Also, whatever else you want to say.

I feel a little… Continue

I Don't Care

Transferred from: http://thevegetarianzombie.blogspot.com. Go there for more veggie goodness!

My cousin Joseph came over yesterday, and that is the reason for the lacking of a post yesterday. Today I asked him what I should write about, and he replied "I don't care". I asked, and I took him literally. Therefore, I decided to write about things I don't care about, and mostly these my replies from conversation from… Continue

What are we going to do?

Sometimes, when you hear about something terrible happening, it seems as though time stands still. Like your world is just a movie, and the watcher got bored and pulled the power plug.
Depressing right?

Sometimes you wonder wether anyone cares anymore. Sometimes it makes you feel guilty for even having a some-what stable life, with shelter, food, a computer.

and it just keeps getting better...

Right now my…

Free Market Approach to Health Care?

With John's last video promoting a "Free Market" approach to health care, I thought I would present my alternative Free Market approach. This is a presentation from Clayton Christensen to college students at MIT, but it shouldn't be too hard to follow. That said, it is a lot denser and longer than John's video.

Guns at Protests

This has me just so outraged. I posted this on the Health Care forum because it did relate to what was going on:

The shouting, violence, and guns have been driving me nuts. I actually came this close to writing a blog about the guy with the sign about watering the tree of liberty at Obama's town hall and in relation to the First… Continue

Palin is "outlandish" (yes, yes she is!)

On Friday, Sarah Palin posted the following "note" about the health care bill on Facebook:

As more Americans delve into the disturbing details of the nationalized health care plan that the current administration is rushing through Congress, our collective jaw is dropping, and we’re saying not just no, but hell no!

The Democrats promise that a government health care system will reduce the…

Martin Luther King, Jr, and a world I wish could care.

April fourth.

I haven't met one person who actually remembered that today is the day that Martin Luther King, Jr was shot on the balcony of the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee.

Not a single person.

And the people I know are actually the kind of person who knew who Martin was, unlike a special person who we shall not name here in case of her name soiling this blog. (but in case you are swedish and can understand this crazy [but not in a good way] persons mind,… Continue

2008 Primaries

I feel like I don't talk about what I care about enough.

I care about the elections. But the thing is, I think democrats have the right moral ideas (well more than republicans) but the democrats are a little sketchy in foreign relations.

Well good thing I can't vote...unlike a lot of my friends, I'm only 16. And will be 17 in November.

Why did my parents start me in kindergarten early? Pffffffft.

Oh, and Obama is pulling up in the race,… Continue
