The Fundamental Problem of not being Natalie Portman
I’m writing this bog post at 7:09 on a Thursday morning because I frankly think it’s the only way I’ll get to sleep, and I’m not even sure if I will afterwards, which kind of sucks. I didn’t sleep much last night, I didn’t cry, as much of the day lead me to believe, I just stared at a wall and tried to be placid.
But the moment I woke up, the first thought in my head, was “I am not Natalie…

Have you ever had a dream that freaked you out so much you woke up crying and didn't want to go back to sleep? I just did. I have been crying on and off since I woke up, and I can't seem to want to go back to sleep. I can't quite remember it; just this feeling of aloneness, like no one cared about me ever. It wasn't that I was the only person left, Just that none of the people cared about me or even knew I existed. And I just can't shake that feeling. Even though I'm in a room full of…

You are wrong. I am right. I want to run as fast as I can. I want to lift as much as I can. I want to dress light in the cold. I want to walk under the sun when it's hot. I want to party all night and the next day start again. I want to fell in love and have a summer romance. I want to play the hole day and then have another match. I want to run and don't look back. I want to stay awake all night and watch the stars. I want to make new friends each day. I want to chase dreams even if they…

On Martin Luther King jr Day I remember the history of the struggle that he died for. And it is at those times that I am particularly thankful to my mother and father’s way of bringing me up. Even though my family is cacausian, and even though my parents were brought up with the idea of racism as natural my parents never balked at my impossible dream.
Me: “Mommy black people are beautiful.”
Mother: “They’re people Heather, the same as me and you.” She smiles down on her little…

Just thought I'd share a crazy dream I had about Hank Green last night:
So, I was going to Hank Green's house to interview him (not sure why or what for). He talked a lot about how hard it is to be a farmer, because apparently Hank Green is a farmer in his spare time. Then he invited me into his garage to see all his farming equipment. His garage, which he summoned with an elevator (just roll with me here), turned out to be a huge cave made entirely with snow. And, although it was…

Dreaming of fire burning mountains and sunsets on the horizon of a smooth glass world.Melted gold pouring from a fountain onto the shimmering surface of a granite sea.And in the distance, are the sparkling trees made of crystal.drinking water made from the clearest diamonds. All this time is measured with the giant platinum grains of sand, drowning the end of an eternal wooden hourglass.Thats what i see behind my silver plated eyes. Its what my soul feels. Its my heart. My heart holds riches that…

So the tiny chicks seem to be working their way out of my system, though they've left their mark. Bleugh, I'm just well enough to get back to school tomorrow and start thinking about actually getting things done as opposed to floating along on a high fever and paracetamol.
Not that I didn't get things done yesterday - it
was the tech, dress and final rehearsals of 'Midsummer Night's Dream' for the Shakespeare school fesitval. I was Starveling the tailor, who in this abridged…

I got rid of the Yo-Yo Ma version of the Bach "Prelude" on my playlist and uploaded Zuill Bailey's, instead (I finally found my autographed CD, huzzah!!!!). Like I said
before, Yo-Yo's isn't my favorite professional recording. Call me a music snob, but whatevs.
And Zuill's isn't just my favorite because I met
and drooled over him. No, Zuill's is my favorite because his…

No One Cares What You Had For Lunch: 100 Ideas for Your Blog, by Margaret Mason. I forgot how amusing it was.
So, I'ma tell yous guys what I'd do if I had $10,000,000.
{x} Pay off my debts - Approximately $14,800.
{x} Buy

So last night..or early this morning, I had a dream that I'd like to cherise forever, so I'm blogging it in hopes I won't forget. This dream was so awesome, it'll just, deface the world of suckish dreams. This Dream, was so awesome, that asteroids are exploding in space at this very second because they couldn't handle the awesome, no, those weren't just noises in your head. This dream, was so freaking awesome, that when I think of it, the Earth becomes my happy place, and every single human is a…

I was discussing my musical tastes with a former student a few years back. I mentioned how much I loved the band Yes, and she suggested I give Dream Theater a listen. To facilitate this, she burned a CD for me. I finally transferred those songs to my iPod and had a better listen.
Yes are better composers. They weave a song together, even if it's 20+ minutes long. Themes that are present in the beginning fade in and out, but the thread is always there. It's like a good time lapse…

It was November, 1994. I was lying on the floor with our new puppy, a pure-bred Boxer named Indiana Jones (I know, totally jokes name, right?). My older sister was in our room, reading (as usual- she did absolutely nothing else), my dad was still at work, and my mom was in the living room with me, watching a concert on PBS. I was six, going on seven, and in the second grade. We had only been in Las Vegas for a few months.
I don't remember the orchestra, but I have a feeling it was…

I just got up literally five minutes ago and I just had THE most incredible dream I've had in years, and I felt like I really should write it down before it starts fading from my memory as most dreams do, and share it on the web in the process.
Be warned that the following recollection is going to extremely incoherent and ridiculous, and not intended for the weak of mind. Unless you're of awesome of course, then this would be cake. XD
The dream comes in 4 parts, and after…

Tons of stuff has been going on since I last logged into the Ning.
I finished my finals.
I packed up.
I went home.
I washed cars.
I ate hot dogs.
I got (mildly) sunburned.
I drove a car (for the first time in almost half a year).
I planted plants.
I pulled weeds. (I got mauled by
Pampas Grass.)
I saw a snake (and thought it might…

Greetings. I am new here.
Interesting title, eh? Well, it basically explains the dream I had last night. In it, I was in a different house than my own one. I was looking through stacks of books. I do not know where they came from, but I was not finding much of anything when -BAM!- something clicked. I realized that the very book I was holding, a book on helpful hints for the home, was written by Hank and John Green. The thing is, though, it did not say that. On the cover, it said…

Last night, I had quite a vivid dream that included Hank and John. Quite unfortunately, I cannot remember the details, or at least, any details that would make sense to anyone but myself. I remember being in a parking structure and Hank was being kind of creepy. I think I was scared of him. Probably because of that bloody 'I Killed Someone' video. And I also remember something about the movie theatres and then seeing John just hanging out, walking into some rooms like we were at a convention of…

Avocado. It's out of season at the moment, so, naturally, I have a craving for it. I get these every so often. Like a pregnant woman (although believe me, pregnancy is a scientific impossibility for me at the moment) (unless God has decided to do something he's only done once before, or so the Story goes) (in which case, he would thus have a very f***ed up sense of humor), a strange, incessant desire for some completely random food item, and often one that is rather out-of-the-ordinary, will…
