Listen, Jena, I know I’ve gone on about Charles Dickens a bit this month, but it’s Christmas time, and no writer helps us define and celebrate the season like Dickens. So here are six interesting facts about his miniature masterpiece, A Christmas Carol.
Dickens wrote the book in just two months (October and November, 1843).
The first printing of 6,000 copies sold out in days.
Within six weeks of its publication on December 19, 1843,…

Almost two years ago (specifically, Feb. 27, 2008), I posted a blog on this site giving five facts about myself. Today, I'm going to explain a little more about them, unless I already have or, in one case, I will give it its own blog.
1. Once, I was hit on the head with a boomerang.
2. Another head thing. Last winter, my cousin Ben hit me in the head with a swing. It was quite painful.

Well, the only point of this first blog post (woot woot) is that the phrase "fun facts" CONFUSES THE HELL OUT OF ME.
Let's say you see a sheet that says "Fun facts about Barack Obama." I mean I would expect to see something like "Barack Obama had read all the Harry Potter books." (WHICH IS TOTALLY TRUE BY THE WAY!!!!!) In my house there was a sheet that said "Fun Facts about bottled water", left over from Awareness Day at my school. So I looked at it, and guess what?
IT'S NOT… Continue

I am calling this blog a borrowed post for this reason. I did this thing on facebook a few months ago where you list twenty Five random things about yourself. The only thing was, the facts were not really random, and anyone who knew me knew all those facts. That and it was also really rushed, and I didn't think it out. I decided for BEDA that I would completely redo the entire list, and make it to where if my best friend read it, they(I have two best friends Kathryn, and Clint) would have no… Continue

I pulled these from my page because it was taking me forever to scroll to the botton. So you won't be without your beloved facts I shall post them here.
When the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers play football at home, the stadium becomes the state's third largest city. Most car horns honk in the key of 'F'. In Michigan, a woman isn't allowed to cut her own hair without her husband's permission. In Texas it's illegal to put graffiti on someone else's cow. In ancient Rome it was… Continue
This might be a bit of a hyperbole. A more correct statement is that I'm a Hamlet fanatic-- I despise Romeo and Juliet and didn't go gaga for Macbeth. But Hamlet? I live for that play. You can thank my AP English teacher for that one. I'm reading Ophelia right now and am completely mortified! To say that she faked her insanity and her own death is crazy; it's an insult to Shakespeare, really.
Okay, so I've been an OFFICIAL NERDFIGHTER for 21 minutes (or thereabouts) and it feels AWESOME. I don't actually know why I haven't signed up for this before. I'm probably just lazy. I think I'm doing pretty well in my first hour as an OFFICIAL NERDFIGHTER I hope I've got some sort of record for my mammoth post on the 'Nerdiest thing you own.' thread. I'm such a geek for pokemon it's awesome. Admittedly I tried to make it look a little smaller with semi-colons, but that just… Continue
