New To NerdFighters And Just Saying Hi! :D
Hello NerdFighters,
I'm Dara Wittman, I writing this just to say hi to everybody. I'm currently a college student studying broadcasting. Although my dream job is to be a film and TV critic. I know this isn't the best career choice but who knows. Anyway I was thinking I could start reviewing stuff here, so if anybody has any movies, or TV shows or even a broadway show they would like me to review please let me know. Also if you want to be my friend and just talk about...well…

Writers
I sometimes wonder about the reactions I get when I let somebody read something I've written. I want to be a writer, so I'm always writing things and if I think they're particularly good, or if I'm especially proud of them I'll show them to a few trusted people. I always get praise, it seems. I can't recall a single time anyone told me that something I'd written was bad or that they didn't like it. this makes me wonder if these people are telling me the truth. Writers can be pretty sensitive…

Introducing Friends to Friends, and the Dangers Thereof
I don't know about you guys, but when I have friends who don't know each other, I like to introduce them to each other. What can I say? I like it when my friends like each other.
What I don't like, is when my friends become better friends with each other than they do with me. I don't know if this makes me selfish, or what, but I hate being left out by people I brought together.
For example, I have a friend from back home, Trevor, who came up to visit for a weekend. (The…

Real Life Friends
So yesterday I wrote about fictional friends and how books lead me to find people and personalities that, although they aren't real, I will count as my friends for my whole life.
Then today, almost as if life is reading my blog and thought this would be the perfect follow-up post, a book lead me to make a real life friend.
I can't say we'll be friends for the rest of our lives, but a comment about a book leading to discover you have many things in common is pretty…

Finding Friends in Books
One of my favorite things about reading a good book is the connections I make to the characters. For someone who sometimes has trouble connecting to people in the real world, I enjoy when I feel as if the characters have become my friends. I think that's what makes a good book: how connected and attached I get to the people in it. There are other things that make books good, but this is my favorite.
I love reading a book where I fall in love with the characters. It's sad when the…

Change
I dyed my hair red today, just like I wanted to. It turned out pretty good and I'm happy with it. I went and posted pictures on all the necessary social networking sites, and I'll probably put one on here later. everyone's reactions have been very positive, as one expects when you post a picture you are obviously pleased with.
So this of course got me thinking.
Yesterday and Friday I told people that I wanted to dye my hair red and the majority all responded…

Expression
I have recently decided to dye my hair red. I am a brunette, and have never dyed my hair before. I got the stuff to do it today, and my roommate has promised to help me. We will probably dye it either tomorrow, or next week sometime.
When I told my roommates and some of the other people in my life that I wanted to dye my hair red, I was a little surprised by their reactions. Almost everyone's first reaction was "Why?" What do you mean, why? Because I want to. Because I can. Because…

Valentine's Day
I enjoy Valentine's Day. I like the hearts and the candy and the feeling of romanticism in the air. There are also things I don't like about Valentine's Day. Things I despise.
I hate the panicked feeling of every single person before Valentine's Day that they all have to some how magically create a Valentine for themselves. I hate that it is a day on which people feel ashamed to be single. There's nothing wrong with being single! Do you know how many times I haven't been single on…

A long rant to nerdfighters because I need to get some things off my chest and I don't know who to talk to.
My name is Libby.
I am 14 years old. I live in a small town in Queensland, Australia. My dad died when I was 7. I am moving in December.
At the moment, I feel alone. I am on holidays, staying at my beach house (which will sooon become my house of residence) away from my friends. But that is not really why I feel alone. I am able to contact my friends via the internet. And I have done so. But what I want to say, I can't say to them. I don't know how to. It may seem weird that I…

Forgivness and stubborn...ness
A video about forgiveness. I tried not to make it possible for anyone I know to actually know who I'm talking about, but I hope the message still got through.
Check it out here or under.

First day here
Well this website seems like it could be really fun but you need friends to have that fun. I do not have any friends on here yet. And I say yet with the immense hope for someone to be my friend. Goodness me, I sound like a little kid looking for friends at the playground. I miss the days where you could just go up to someone, play around with them and then just say "hey wanna be my friend" and you suddenly had a new buddy. Now you just send a request on facebook and they're your 'friends'…

I just finished reading Paper Towns by the awesome John Green. But when I noticed Nerdfighter lingo in the text I'm like: I haven't finished reading this book and I like it already. But then I stopped and started to think. On my birthday I went to the movies with my boyfriend at that time. Evan Henry as I will call him since that is his first and middle name as he regrets me ever finding out his middle name. (We were dating when I found out too so he was utterly caught off guard when I…

Thoughts and meeting John Green
I just posted this to my wordpress blog, but I figured it would be most interesting to people here. :)
Yesterday I got to go to a meet and greet with John Green in Amsterdam. It was incredibly awesome to see him in person and to get to interact with him. It felt familiar because he came across just like he does in his videos, and I love his videos so I'm glad it was like that.
There were some lovely observations…
