do higher powers exist?

people dont believe in religion due to the lack or a physical god but what i dont understand is if religion is a spiritual thing then why cant a god be spiritual instead of physical?

personally, i am not religious although i come from a long line of christian/catholic people (my mind is more science based). i respect religion and what it offers humanity however i do not buy creationalism.
