I've noticed, in my short time on this earth, so many people doing the opposite of what this quote says. But don't we all fall victim to trying to impress people? I use the word victim because in the end we're usually the ones getting…Continue
So, someone just asked on Facebook which has been my best valentines day so far. I wasn't the first one who answered so, I needed to read the answers ahead of mine.
And it was kind of weird at first, because everybody was like: 'the best valentines day for me, was…Continue

We all, at some point in our lives, find ourselves adrift in the middle of a world of senseless pain and regret. Yet, once we designate definitive spaces in our mind… nay, our heart, it all becomes much easier and, at some point, bearable.
There are people who find pleasure and self-fulfillment in the smallest of happenings, be it a flower blossoming; or a mockingbird, happily chiming away his nature given chords, poetically limbering on the enjoyment of finding a companion. There are…

I wish my life would be clearer… I feel as if I am constantly drifting away in a never-ending sea of indecision, seldom punctuated by crisp, bright notes of fear, mainly surrounded by sadness and confusion. I don’t think I can quite grasp the reason behind all this, but then again, reasons tend to be rather sharp when it comes to hiding; that is, when there is indeed a reason, for more often than not, there is none.
I believe it was Audrey Hepburn who once said that “the most important…

I have a secret. No it's not a dirty little secret but a secret nevertheless. Now some of y'all might be thinking then why are you even talking about it Joie? Because I've decided there is no reason for it to be kept secret. So here goes. I write "love letters" to complete strangers and then leave these letters in random places.
Some of y'all may or may not know about a little project known as More Love Letters. Quite…Continue

Ok. It Esther day today. Now my sister and I...don't always see eye to eye. She is much more bubbly, sweet, loving, and fantastical than I am. So its pretty safe to say that we have a sisterhood rivalry/ every day dislike. But I mean we get along sometimes, and we are friends. However, saying I love you was still painful. But it wasn't as painful as I thought it would be. Which is a relief. Happy Esther day guys. I love you all.

After watching, reading about, and pondering on this very lovely ballet it got me thinking in a weird direction.
Did the farmer really love the nymph? I don't think so. If he did why did he try to capture her? Why couldn't he be happy that she came back. She always came back. Instead of loving her the same way she loved him he had to turn her into something he could hold on to, he turned her in to an object.
Obsession seems to take over the minds of men where the fae…Continue

“Where words fail, music speaks.”
― Hans Christian Andersen
Music is the one thing that keeps me going. You can find a beautiful melody in something so strange, that it provokes you to tears. Even the greatest musicians/artists/songwriters experience this moment of greatness. The mass of great compositions and songs grows every second. You can go from something as simple as…Continue

Hello fellow Nerdfighters! :D I'm new to the ning and haven't really tried blogging before. I don't think it will become a regular thing, so just warning you now. Sorry. ^_^* SPOILER ALERT! This post is going to be pretty meaningful/deep to me. I hope some of you can relate or enjoy it, but it's my blog so...ONWARDS!
There's been this person in my life for the past 4 years (as of April 15th, 2013, it will be 4 years, but let's round up.) And this person has accidentally…Continue
Basically I have to pull a cliche teenager and say that yesterday was in fact the worst day of my life or at least pretty darn close to it. Now I mean not to exaggerate but it was all pretty dramatic and confusing not to mention emotional. Let me start at the beginning... My day started out just like any other, a bright sun shining through my window and i hated it because that meant i must get up, but what I did not know was that it would not be just any ordinary day. Once I made it to…Continue

I enjoy Valentine's Day. I like the hearts and the candy and the feeling of romanticism in the air. There are also things I don't like about Valentine's Day. Things I despise.
I hate the panicked feeling of every single person before Valentine's Day that they all have to some how magically create a Valentine for themselves. I hate that it is a day on which people feel ashamed to be single. There's nothing wrong with being single! Do you know how many times I haven't been single on…Continue
my name is Charlotte. I have been a nerd for all my life, but it has been a difficult journey for me.
When I was in 4th grade (4 years ago) I read Harry Potter for the first time. And I went over the top obsessive over it. I got a cardboard cutout of Harry and named him Happy Harry. I had 47 posters exactly. I was no longer permitted to read the books because I lived in a huge shrine that was my bedroom. And I did refer to it as a shrine. Kids still talk…Continue
I do not think I have ever read a book like On The Jellicoe Road.
Every once in a while you read a book that deals you an emotional blow in more than one way, by throwing you through the ringer of the tragedies of it's characters and their triumphs, and at the same exact time forcing you to work through your own. On The Jellicoe Road is that kind of book-- only on a level that far exceeds.…Continue
Hey guys, we've posted another vid about the joys of reading and how it can change your life. Give it a look if you've been changed by this amazing thing. [x]

This girl I like. She's pretty awesome. She's an Anglophile, Whovian, and Potterhead. She reads comic books, listens to awesome music, and she's very attractive. The best part is that she's a nerdfighter. She's virtually perfect. The thing is...I think she's hung up on some other guy.
I'm not gonna sit here and complain how nice guys finish last or whatever because that's bullshit. The "nice" guys who finish last are the one's who objectify and just wanna bang the "hot" girls;…Continue
