Origin

The Moon made the girl's tears shimmer once again, which now resembled stars in a smaller cosmos.

Why?

The Moon was an eyewitness. It was an eyewitness of the girl's cries since she was a child. And an eyewitness of how she drowned her sufferings.

Ten summers later, The Moon beheld the glows of a completely full Stade de France. From the place, the purest and sweetest sound of her voice accompanied by the piano her fingers caressed, along with the bass and the…

The Future of Manned Space Exploration

In which Hank discusses NASA's new Space Launch System (SLS) and the Orion space vehicle, which are (unlike the space shuttle) designed exclusively for deep-space missions to places including our moon, the asteroids, and Mars.

In other news, I also made a video about the Invisible Children / Kony 2012 campaign because, of course, how could I help myself. It will be at…

Hank Talks to NASA About the Space Shuttle

So the Space Shuttle program is ending after more than 30 years. I grew up in Orlando, regularly watching the shuttle take off. It had a huge effect on me.

Now, with the program ending, we will need to find new ways to reach low-earth orbit, and also new ways to expand manned exploration beyond low-earth orbit and into the rest of the solar system.

Well, I got to talk with Mike Massimino, the Astronaut who's always going on Conan, Bobby Braun,… Continue

Angie Reads New Moon - Chapter 2 From Biology Class With Soybean

Chapter 2 was much better than Chapter 1.  However, Stephenie Myer has made some big contradictions and there are a couple of MAJOR editing blips.  Sorry, but I actually really don't feel like typing all of my thoughts out...the link to the video is right here:    so just watch that...and visit the channel at…

I Watch New Moon Movie = 2 Thumbs Down

I have a 13 year old daughter who read the Twilight Saga books. You wanted so badly to see the movie New Moon. I have heard of the movie through TV commercials but never got a chance to see what it was rated. I went to WatchMoviesSite.com and decided to watch the bootleg version for free just so I'll know what type of sex, violence or cursing was in the movie. I also wanted to watch it to see why she was so obsessed with it. Granted I love Vampire Ware-wolf movies but after watching New Moon I… Continue

I saw Harrison Schmitt!

Harrison Schmitt is the last man who has ever been on the moon (and is the New Mexico Senetor) and he was on holiday in Malta so i gueesed he tought to give a 2-day lecture at our univeersity and i went to it. He basically talked about skiing on the moon, landing on the moon, helium-3, his famous picture of the world as a marble, the apollo-17 mission, his early life, NASA, After Nasa, Being a geologist, moon buggys and his salmon salad.
It was Awesome!

Saturn's Dynamic Moon Enceladus Shows More Signs of Activity

SAN FRANCISCO -- The closer scientists look at Saturn's small moon Enceladus, the more they find evidence of an active world. The most recent flybys of Enceladus made by NASA's Cassini spacecraft have provided new signs of ongoing changes on and around the moon. The latest high-resolution images of Enceladus show signs that the south polar surface changes over time.

Break

So I completed my break and did a lot of non-productive stuff that I shouldn't have instead of completing all of the work I was assigned. I have decided that I'm a bonafide nerd to the core.

1) Watched almost all of a random anime, "Rozen Maiden." It's cute and rather pointless, although it does have some interesting moral/philosophical/ethical questions involved that the writers pose pretty blatantly. Biggest mind boggler: What constitutes a person?

2) I got through some… Continue

Lunar Eclipse!

To whom it may concern:
This is an open call for any pictures anyone managed to capture of the lunar eclipse. Where I was it was much much too cloudy to see, and it was the last one until 2010. How sad.

Thanks,
Mat

lunar eclipse

the moon was so lovely last night! went out around 10:15 (atlantic time) and it had started. by 11 PM it was nearly fully eclipsed. we went out around 10:45 for a walk, but it was so cold and the wind was biting into us, so we mostly stood in the darkest part of our yard and gazed up to the heavens and watched the earth's shadow engulf Lady Luna. Tried to take some pictures, but a tripod is needed in that low light. at least we had clear skies to see the event! i even saw two shooting stars as… Continue
