Bandits Is Just A Good Movie

I don't know if a lot of people know about it, but it really is.

I remember watching this movie when it came out on video (I was working at Blockbuster at the time) and thoroughly enjoying it. So, a while back I saw it on sale for a cheap price and picked it up. Finally got a chance to watch it again tonight.

After watching it again, I figured out what I like about it;…

Another Day, Another Blog

Week two of April. This is when my motivation for BEDA/VEDA/Script Frenzy starts to die. I just get that lackadaisical feeling where I just want to sit on the couch and watch television.

Fortunately, I don't have cable. Unfortunately, I have several stacks of DVDs I've yet to watch.

Still managed to get my video for today done, even with the prolonged nap in the middle of the day. I think one of my main issues is not having a definite plan. Look at vloggers like… Continue

Scott Pilgrim's Precious Little Life

I love going to the movies.

Sadly, the offerings from Hollywood as of late have been less and less interesting and "must see" compared to when I was a child.

Leave it to Edgar Wright to give me back my sense of absolute wonder in the movies.

Thursday night I went to see the midnight showing of "… Continue

And Knowing Is Half the Battle

Today I just had to watch my newest purchase, the G.I. Joe movie .

No, not the unbelievable P.O.S. from Stephen Sommers, the classic animated movie based on the cartoon. You know the one, with Golobulus and Cobra-La?

Yeah, that… Continue

If You'll Pardon Me, I'm Going To Briefly Talk About Avatar

And by briefly, I mean it will be just a minor mention to get to another topic.

So, when I went to see Avatar , I was struck by a specific piece of the score. It was familiar to me, but I couldn't place it. It was a trill of trumpets used for battle and action scenes in Avatar and I knew for sure I'd… Continue

Book Versus Movie

One of these days I'll actually start writing before midnight. Been in cleaning mode today because I have some guests coming tomorrow. I'm excited.

As I write this, I have Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone playing in the background. Normally, this would not be important, but I have… Continue

A MovieStop-Centric Day

Today was a day full of MovieStop related things.

Aaron came over to work on the edit for the Twilight Midnight Release Party video so he can fix all the little quirks that keep bothering him. He's trying to put together an optimized version that he and LeAnne can show around. I'll be sure to post the new video when it's up and running.

LeAnne, Aaron, and I went out to Old Chicago for the first time in a long time (first time in a while that LeAnne hasn't been working on a… Continue

Another Short In the Can

The commercial shoot went off without a hitch. We'll be editing at some point in the next week or two. I'll let everyone know when the finished product is up. In the meantime, for those interested to know more, there's a website to explain what the commercial is for. Check it out:

After that, I gathered a few DVDs I'd decided to sell and traded them in at MovieStop. I really like MovieStop. It's the only… Continue

Why Bruce Campbell is My Idol

So, I'm sitting here getting ready to watch "My Name is Bruce" and I wanted to talk a little about Bruce Campbell.

This guy is a cult icon. From the Evil Dead series, to Brisco County Jr or Xena, you've probably seen him around.

Lately, he's been talking up the idea that Hollywood has completely embraced the B movie (not always in a good way). His main point is that people keep confusing the term "B movie" with "independent". A B movie is the second part of a double… Continue

I have been neglecting my blogging!

As the title suggests, I have seriously neglected my blogging lately. In fact, other than my weekly post to the Five Awesome Bloggers (I'm Wednesday), I haven't written much of anything.

So, here is my first step to writing on a regular basis. As I write this, I make a pledge to myself, and to all of you, that I will write every day. Whether it be here, my… Continue

Movie Reviews from the Movie Nerdfighter

I have started to write movie reviews under the nom de guerre "The Movie Nerdfighter". So far, I have written about 6 reviews (one of which was written years ago), but hope to write many more. I'd love it if the rest of the Nerdfighters would check it out and tell me what they think. I'm going to make this a regular thing, if for no other reason than to help me get on a more standard writing schedule.

Also, as a part of this little project I've started a podcast with some friends… Continue
