Anyone who has spoken to me can tell you, it's pretty darn rare for me to be speechless. Tonight I am. Three young women who have been missing from Cleveland's community for 11, 10, and 9 years are free tonight, after being held against their will since they were all 20 years old or younger (two were teens).
Yes, this is going to be big national news. I'm not related to any of these women, though I share the emmense joy of their families.

In which John discusses marriage equality, what a traditional marriage actually is, and what role (if any) theological understandings of marriage play in the legal definition of marriage. Let's continue this conversation in comments, but in doing so, let's remember that nerdfighteria is about respect and generosity. Thanks.
It's happening again. The image above is not of a historical remake of Nazi Germany. It is Greece, 2012. Anti-bailout movements, financial ruin, austerity cuts, over 50% unemployment - an opportunity for neo-Nazism to rise up among the ruins of what was once…Continue

Only last month the Javan rhino (Rhinoceros sondaicus) was declared extinct in…Continue

Today, while walking home with my friends, I saw a news stand. The headline said:
"NAKED PROTESTOR GLUES HIMSLEF TO DESK".
Not the usual thing we see on a news stand in Hull. After contemplating his motives and which part of his anatomy he may have glued (I thought his whole self; my friends are a little bit more dirty minded...) to said desk we took a photo of the sign and walked on, still purplexed by this story and wanting to read more about it.
We named the man Jim,…Continue
