Airport.- by Arthur Hailey

Lincoln International Airport is hit by a violent snowstorm and a plane gets stuck on the main runway. As staff struggle to keep the airport open their personal relationships cause more problems. To make matters worse, a man arrives at the airport determined to blow up a plane. The drama unfolds as the storm reaches its speak.

I've just finished this book, and I'm a bit disappointed. The book really entartained me overall, but the ending was not as impacting as I…

Edits

I love to write. I’ve written a draft of a book that I am continually working on and making better but now I am helping someone else with their work! I’m quite excited to be a sort of ‘editor’ for someone. It’s really quite fun. The story is really good as far as I have read and I’m really happy I get to help out with this book. I really look forward to seeing how everything plays out.

As a ‘learn as I go’ writer I find this ‘editor’ thing is really great for me. To get to see…

My NaNoWriMo Novel So Far (4,500 Words) [Please Give Your Opinion]

Chapter 1:

My eyes opened slowly. I looked at the clock. 6:30 AM. Wasn’t it Saturday? Why was I waking up this early? I went to the bathroom and showered.

I went downstairs and saw that the clocks down there were all reading 6:30 AM. Huh? I went to the kitchen. My mom was cooking bacon on the stove. I looked at it. I could see the bubbles of cooking grease, but they weren’t popping. My mom seemed frozen. I looked at my dad. He seemed frozen, too. He was…

The Basics of My Book - Minimal Spoilers

Almost forgot, but here I am to blog about the book I plan on writing eventually at some point if I can ever get motivated on it like I used to be. Also, I forgot to ever try to find our Lord of the Rings books tonight. While everything I have written here is accurate, I haven't taken the description very seriously, so it's pretty lighthearted. The actual novel will likely be far less so, at least as far as overriding theme goes. The book will take itself seriously.

So my…

Attempting to write a novle in 100 days

So I'm attempting to write a novel in 100 days.

So far I'm a bit behind on writing and would love some encouragement from fellow people to keep me going

I run my whole writing operation on my Tumblr which includes Writing a novel in 100 days post for anyone who would be interested in starting their own 100 novel adventure.

Book Post - "Narcissus and Goldmund" by Herman Hesse

This book brought caused me to question more than any other books I have read by Hesse and that is saying a lot.

Here is a quick wiki-summary:

Narcissus and Goldmund is the story of a young man,…

Martyr... Chapter 1

This is the first chapter in a book that I have been working on for a few years. I really want to do a chapter by chapter revealing of it. I really want your guys' opinion on it, so if you could read and comment on it that would be lovely.

Chapter 1

The grass beside her rustled. She heard the roar of the lion. She looked through her binoculars to locate the fierce predator.

“I see the lion Daddy! I see the lion!”

Thursday, the day before Friday.

Lately, I've had tons of people tell me how big of a nerd I am. I laughed and resisted the urge to tell them, "Thank you, I know I get way too excited about stuff." Because if I said that then they would want to know what I meant and then I'd have to spend an hour explaining who John and Hank Green are and what a Nerdfighter is.

Most of my friends have read at least Looking for Alaska, so they know who John is, but they just don't care how amazing he is as a vlogger.…

Paper Towns

This review will probably not be as good as it should be because I'm having a really hard time getting myself un-stuck from The Hunger Games. The delay in the review is because I was busy reading all 3 of them and going psycho. I'll do my best to remember details from Paper Towns, but Hunger Games is really good at occupying my thoughts. And again, I'll do my best to avoid spoilers, though that may be rather difficult.

Paper Towns was my favorite of John's three (so far) solo-books and… Continue

Scott Pilgrim's Precious Little Life

I love going to the movies.

Sadly, the offerings from Hollywood as of late have been less and less interesting and "must see" compared to when I was a child.

Leave it to Edgar Wright to give me back my sense of absolute wonder in the movies.

I wrote a novel

I wrote a novel this year. It's called Living On, and it's about a girl in a mental hospital learning to let go and move on from toxic things and people in her life. I'm planning on trying to get it published shortly and would loooove it if you followed my blog:

Things Left Unfinished

Alright, it's been November since my last blog post, so I'm saying this right now...
Goal for 2010: Write at least one blog a week for the rest of the year.
Barring any moments without internet connectivity, this isn't exactly a lofty goal. I'm working on getting into a regular writing routine, so hopefully this will help me do just that. Something else that would probably help, actually writing every day. Since I've helped form a writer's group, that'll probably help…

Unruly Novel Child

Okay. So it turns out I'm writing a trilogy.

I wrote a novel. I was so happy with it. It had three parts and lots of action and likable characters and a nice concept. Then it decided to become a brat. After I spent all my time nursing it, making it presentable, I leave it alone for a second and then I come back and all of a sudden it's making demands.

-Novel-"Hey, Aleya, I was just thinking... since I'm a three part novel... why don't you flesh things out a bit and make me into… Continue

National Novel-writing Month, Oink-Barf Bendemic, and garlic-potato calzones, yum! :^D

Howdy, Internet! By 'internet' I mean, of course, the two people besides myself who read this weird foray into the mind of, well, me.

Guess what?

That's right, it's November, and that means it's time to go completely bonkers for thirty days and nights in an attempt to write the disgustingly incoherent American novel. It's National (technically now it's international, but whatever) Novel Writing Month, and that means 50,000 words in 30 days. Although for me it'll be twenty-nine, since… Continue
