A Few Things I Hear In Class...

The Things I Hear In Class

WARNING: May contain some swear words! And sexual references.

"See?! I told you there were black oompa loompas!"

"I smell corn nuts."

"Their mine."

"Your nuts stink."

"You would know."

"YOU would know."

"Dumbass!"

"I don't know but I made my dog eat it."

"Dude, did you seriously just drink out of my Capri-Sun? I'm a germaferb!"

"Germaphobe."

"Shut up, I love Germany!"

The Burning Man Effect- The Fires Of Color

Panic. Yellow splotched summer sky, mid afternoon, Sun scorched and burning contently. Zoom in, a large shadow streaked across the docile grass, wet from early rain, cold, inviting, resting. A figure jaunts across the shadow, his frame splotched red green yellow and blue. His eyes, tired, hating, throbbing. His shirts been torn, wrenched around his neck, the collar like a frayed guitar string, limp, wiry, twisted. Pale legs strut till his bones are seen writhing out from underneath their…

On the subject of schooling

I've been hearing lately that the school system where I'm from is really different that different parts of the country (or the world, for that matter). Here I'm going to lay out what it's like, and I would appreciate it if you'd leave comments or a blog post describing your own school system.

Basically, it's like this.

~~ Our local Elementary school (I believe that's Primary school in British English, but I may be wrong) goes from grades preschool to 6. After this, we change…

  • Staring at my hands - are the lines on you hand that interesting? Go ahead look at your palm.
  • Running there fingers through my hair. - I do this constantly, and I can't help…

Day 266: Things That Amuse Me #26

For today's Things That Amuse Me, I'm going to talk about another website.

Things That Amuse Me #26: Oddee

Oddee is a website that I found relatively recently (probably about a year ago). It's a collection of lists of a variety of topics. It describes itself as "A Blog on Oddities: the odd, bizarre and strange things of our world." This is a very accurate description of this website.

It has such a variety of topics,…

Happy Birfday Yesterday

So, I turned 16 yesterday. I'm sad. I really liked being 15. 16 is an even number, and even numbers + me = bad. Odd numbers are just so much more...spectacular. Especially 15. 15 is right smack-dab between 10 and 20, and that is super.
But other than turning into an even number, my birthday went well. The atmosphere was chillaxed. Instead of the traditional cake, I had a cupcake tower. When lit up, it looks like a cupcake-christmas tree. Sweet.

Archives

John, I've spent the last three hours reading the archives of your blog. I've only made it through the first two years so far. I took a lot away from your posts but nothing as interesting as the fact that you and my ex-girlfriend both have the same favorite flavor of ice cream and are from the same hometown. I'll call Daniel Biss and ask about the odds on that one.
