Paper Towns has made me laugh more in the first 16 pages than the entirety of An Abundance of Katherines did.

Well, I was going to talk about toilets, but I think first I should proooobably explain the title of this blog.
You see I have this problem where I want everyone to like me. All the people. So I am always stupidly careful not to say anything that could even remotely offend anyone. But you know, when you're only worried about what people think of you, you're not really being yourself, you feel me?
I have a close friend who does not give a single fuck about…Continue

Thanks for stumbling onto my blog c: My name is Katelin, and I'm a seventeen year old from a little town in a dinky place no one has ever heard of. Surprisingly enough, I have a lot of things to talk about.
My interests include Batman, corgis, history, bunnies, politics, Legend of the Five…

before you start reading let me say one small thing, I wrote this for class a few months back. it was my project for the great gatsby. pardon the bad grammar and punctuation, its only a first draft and I'm still in high school :p
PS I really like commas, not sure why.

We decided not to do a vlog on the subject since many lovely ladies have already covered the subject nicely. Check out their video responses below:

Hello, um, people? Friends? Readers? RANTERS! Hello Ranters. I recently read 'The Fault In Our Stars'. I know, I didn't really know if I liked the John Green books, I was content with having read 'Looking For Alaska.' I was honestly quite scared. I didn't want to disgrace the name of, like, my favorite youtuber, by not liking the book. But then I sucked it up, and bought it. I wanted to be in the little party aswell!
I am reading 'An Abundance Of Katherines', but before, I was…Continue
Let's say, you know someone who wants to get a tattoo, but not just any kind of tattoo of say, a bird or something, she wants to get a tattoo of a swastika. Freaky, right? It doesn't end there though, she also wants it to symbolize the pride she has for being white.
Before you raise your hands in the air and scream from the top of your deflatable lungs "RACISM!" There is one thing that I want you to think about, and it is what you are allowed to have pride in. Is it something you did…Continue

Yes, that's right. I'm finally going to explain what was wrong with that class and why I dropped it. This should be a fun time, folks.
First of all, we have to look the first email sent by the teacher, for it is the teacher that made me drop the class. To look into this, let's look at another email sent out at about the same time. It was the teacher of Theatre History, who you may remember me saying I like, and it was the first email she sent. How does she greet us? "Hi…Continue
Listen Jena (and unborn child), in the wake of my blitz of Batman blogs several weeks back, I did not expect so many nice people to read. What I did expect, though, was that someone would eventually accuse me of giving Christopher Nolan too much credit. I think maybe I did, but that is the best way to enjoy a good story.
Many students struggle in English class with the question of the author’s intent. The teacher (or some…Continue

Subtitle: My thoughts on Fifty Shades of Crap
Subtitle 2: What in THE HOLY F^%K is wrong with you Vintage Books!?
I know I'm a little late to the party on this, but I rarely place any long form rant about a subject on the internet for good reason, and the biggest one is that if I decide to talk about something that everyone else has already, then it is like trying to scream something during a Justin Bieber concert: you're not going to be heard. But for the past month or…

Oh wait, Colin is a virgin? I thought, from the way he and K-19 seemed so comfortable removing each other’s clothing and being in Colin’s bed….
“I AM BREAKING UP WITH YOU. Gorgeous. Please tell me that’s TOC under there. Except this could turn really terrible really quickly.
Yep, it is TOC. Wonderful.
And because Colin likes Lindsey, he’s super upset, like Harry’s inner monster roaring at Dean because…Continue

“You just need more people who don’t like people.” That’s not true. Colin’s totally my type. “The best way to get people to like you is not to like them too much.” Yep. There it is, bright as day. The can’t-find-the-keys-‘til-you-stop-looking phenomenon. They don’t want clingy. Was I too clingy? Did I like him too much? I know I liked Rudy II too much. And Aaron II. And Patrick I. I liked Justin, but the problem there was that I didn’t let him KNOW I liked him, so…Continue

Uh ohs. Just Colin and Lindsey. This ain’t gonna be pretty. This ain’t gonna be pretty.
Ohhh, THAT’S why they say fug. I kind of assumed it was that JOHN’S publishers didn’t like all the f-bombs. Huh. What do you know. And yes, Colin, good job staying on track with the story.
What’s the Lass joke? I guess we’ll find out. Apparently it isn’t funny. Stop making fun of your girlfriend, TOC. Did she fall into a well or something? No,…Continue

That would be so cool to be able to read four hundred pages a day. But I don’t think I’d keep much from it. It’s taken me four days to get 110 pages of this book. If I’d simply read it, I’d have gotten it finished day 1, and moved on to either the C.S. Lewis book I’ve got or Paper Towns. But then I’d have missed out on all the thinking I’ve been doing, and that would have been a shame. Also I need to become a Star Trek fan. It’s on my bucket list. Along with Doctor Who. And a bunch…Continue

WHAT?!? Everything Nikola Tesla does is absolutely interesting. Hassan is insane.
And now we can see just how clearly that Colin is a fictional character, because he prefers girls without makeup. IT’S A LIE. Believe me, nobody would like my face better without at least foundation and concealer. NOBODY.
Oh, the matter-of-fact way she talked about how she’s going to “go stare dreamily into the eyes of my boyfriend” is one of the things that reminds me of Lauren. It couldn’t…Continue
