Inner Workings of An Artist or How'd You Do That??

I'm an artist and a question I get a lot is "How do you do it?".

I can't tell people how to make art, but I can share my process. So, I made a FLOW CHART of AWESOME,

to give people an idea of what it takes, from the initial idea to the finished painting. Not every idea works, but

researching, making concept art, playing with color theories, talking about your idea with friends all help to make your

art a reality! I hope this is informitive, and if you…

Nerdfighters, I'm in an environmental video competition and I need your help.

Greetings Nerdfighteria, The competition is now over!!

I'm a college/uni student currently participating in a short film contest, over the month of February
(The competition ends on the 19th of March GMT+10) I've driven myself close to insanity making seven videos in 5 weeks for the series The 20-Something's Guide to Sustainability, the aim being to make your… Continue

"And in life, you do have to choose between your friend and the boy you like."

The whole college application thing was really, really getting to me. Mostly just the essays, but the Common App website was kind of frustrating, and that didn't help anything. I had to stop thinking about it for a little while.

So I read The Boy Book and The Treasure Map of Boys by E. Lockhart. (Both very good, but read the first book, The Boyfriend List first!) E. Lockhart's blog is part of the reason I'm on this site at all--I had friends who recommended it,… Continue

Profile Pictures - A Poem by Bryant

That evening you were wearing your best smile

the one that makes you look fake.

We danced without music with the generator running

because the power was out

and you were cold.

My chest of books divide amongst my friends

said the poet as he lay dying

and so we did divide his books

you took the Bible

I took something useful.

Appraise the antiques and appeal the case.

As the judges gavel gave you your sentence

to be placed… Continue

The Hank Video Boycott Heats Up

Auuugh.

Hank posted a video, you guys (but you probably already know that).

However, upon not seeing any cross-dressing in the centershot, I didn't watch it in solidarity with John and all the other Nerdfighters out there.

Because Hank needs to deliver his punishment.

But I kinda wanna watch it....

But I will NOT! I have more self control than this. I am not going to watch any of Hank's videos until he gives us his best Sex in the City getup.

Why is he doing this?… Continue

My Blog... and Stuff

This is my blog. Well not THIS, but this link is where you can find it:

http://craaazytaco.blogspot.com/

Because in addition to being a nerd fighter, I am a crazy taco. I'm so crazy, that it took three A's to spell crazy. So yeah.

Love for my Sarah,

- JJD

PS: John and Hank = my role models. So much full of awesome.

Palin= teh suxorz

I guess my political blogs are appreciated by some of my Ning friends, so here's one by request.

From Palin's speech at the RNC: "It's a long way from the fear and pain and squalor of a six-by-four cell in Hanoi to the Oval Office." Not many, save Wesley Clark, have the balls to counter this sort of statement. Well, eff that: Being a P.O.W. does not automatically qualify… Continue

The Medusa Cascade.

OMFGOMFGOMFG.

Stolen Earth was like . . . amazing.

Me and Chea are about to cry because of that fucking cliffhanger though, athough Chea did go a bit spoiler crazy and he thinks there's going to be two doctors or something, and David Tennant is staying until at least the Christmas Special because he's been seen filming it.

But, yeah going crazy. A week is waaayyyy too long to wait. Stupid fuckers.

Today was an incredibly boring day, filled with TV, TV… Continue

You have to read this... Seriously, you do.

Some of you might remember me posting this in My Pants, but I decided to repost it here and hope other people find it and feel the wonder of the amazingness. Originally posted by Chip in 'John and Hank' in My Pants on: Dec 30 2007 at 04:35:05am

Wow. Ok, wow. This makes me laugh so much I can't stand it. I was at John's site (sparksfylup.com) looking for... well, nevermind what I was looking for, what I found is soooooooo much better. This makes me cry it's so funny. With… Continue

V-Day

I missed it by half an hour, but whatever. What kind of hopeless romantic would I be if I didn't post a little something for Valentine's Day, eh?

I've never actually been in a relationship on Valentine's Day. I came close, but no cigar.

Kern and Lauren got together last Valentine's Day (which, if you wanted to mark a specific date, would make it not only their first anniversary, but also the anniversary of the end of my friendship with him).

My first dog,… Continue
