Hi there :)

Hi there, peoples of the internetz.

I see that Your Pants are back up.

I just had to say that. Sorry.

Anyway, I know it isn't a Monday, Wednesday or Friday today, but I just felt like posting a blog post. Ok? Also, I'm not back at Air Cadets til the 10th. Which is next Tuesday. Which gives me time to blog.

So, well. At the moment I am confined to either my room or the living room because of my foot and the fact that I had an…

my sister, nerdfighteria, and world suck

So, my sister is 10 years younger than me, and she is also the one that introduced me to Hank and John's videos in the first place. Well I started by watching 31 jokes for nerds and then moved on to the 20 must see vlogbrothers videos and I was hooked. Well, I've gotten so hooked that I am watching a marathon of old brotherhood 2.0 videos (since I just started watching this year). The one year anniversary presents to my boyfriend and I are mystery shirts from DFTBA.com and he surprised me…

Help, Nerdfighteria!!

My brother has finally made a deal with me to get him to stop smoking once and for all. Either Ben Folds or Zooey Deschanel has to be persuaded to write and somehow record a (short) song asking him to stop. Normally I would consider this feat impossible, but I've seen what Nerdfighteria can do and I believe in us!! Help me out here, guys, please!! I've been trying to get my brother to quit for almost a year now and he's finally made me a deal that he will if this happens. Our definition of a…

Road Trip

Tomorrow brings not only a new sunrise but a new road trip!

Who knew a person could get so excited about going to service stops for stale sandwiches and breath mints?

But there is something romantically magical about travelling like a temporary nomad. Being driven on motorways in a yellow suzuki by the fathership and with the infectiously happy sister.

Another bonus? Will get through my mahoosive reading list as i have perfected the art of 'not being car sick'. While…

Geocaching

So my Mom and sister have gotten really into geocaching over the last month, they go out almost every day. They talk about it all the time and bought a GPS to help them. So I thought I might as well right about it.

"Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. The basic idea is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors and then share your experiences online (…

ARRRGGG

Sometimes I just want to strangle my younger sister. She bosses people around, won't take her medicine unless you force her, and is just an all around whiner. She has this idea that the everyone should do everything for her, but that she does everything by herself. She doesn't even does her laundry without nagging. She feels like everyone is horrible and mean to her.

I feel better after writing all this down. Its not rattling around my head make… Continue

What Minor?

Ok, so I'm an English Major and I love it but I haven't picked a minor yet. I'm thinking about either literature or theatre, all my friends are theatre majors. If I have a lit. minor I won't have any classes with them because we've all finished our gen eds, besides the fact that I love theatre and acting. I finish my associates at the end of summer, I won't walk till next May though. I'm taking History of Europe and Intro to Computers(its required) and I'm super…

I never know what to call these

Paint the colors of your dreams. I read this in a book I found yesterday "Reading Lolita in Tehran" by Azar Nafisi. It's a wonderful book, normally I would have seen a book like this before but I'd never seen anything about it. The book/quote really made me think about my life and the world we live in, the quote just clicked with me. I love anything that makes me think, particularly thing that make me question everything I… Continue

Sister City Film Festival

May is just the month for festivals, or festivals that I attend. As stated in my last blog, the beginning of May heralded the Cape Fear Independent Film Festival. Well, on May 23rd there was yet another of my favorite festivals, the Sister City Film Festival in New Bern, North Carolina.

One reason this is one of my… Continue

Rain

It was raining but I had decided not to care. I let the raindrops hit my face and drip off the end of my nose with no attempt whatsoever to keep dry. I was cold, wet and shivering in my thin jacket and my bag was getting soaked through. Still, I stood there stubbornly; waiting. I refused to let this abysmal weather have any effect on me. It suited my mood, at any rate. The rain would have hidden my tears if I had been crying, but I wasn’t. I probably should have been. Only, I just felt kind of… Continue

April 12, 2009

Happy Easter everyone. So i basically slept next to all the phones in my house in case they might ring with news from the hospital. No call except from Diego who basically talked about meaningless shit that did nothing. and since i was half asleep i dont remember anything either of us said. except for the fact that i was really mean. Anywho... today I woke up and cleaned my room cause it looked like someone had re-enacted pearl harbor, then i cleaned my sister room and did all of our laundry… Continue

But With Good Reason

Yes, I'm running late in my blogging... again!

But, I have good reason. It all started at 9 this morning.

*HITS SNOOZE*

It all started at 9:30 this morning.

I got up, hopped in the shower, burned a disc of Doctor Who Series 3 and 4 Soundtrack highlights, packed, and hit the road for New Bern.

After a two hour drive, made it safely to New Bern. This began the insanity that is the holidays at home. My sister was there already with her… Continue

April 11, 2009

Once again, i was laying in my bed this morning, reading Pretties. When someone called my house and my mom started screaming like a child. and my first reaction was "my sister died", Thank god i was wrong. Not thank god though, my sisters lung was once again bleeding only this time it was worse, much much worse. My mom and dad rushed to the hospital while my brother and i waited behind and left a deal later. Our plan was that we would come make sure she was alright and leave like he had done… Continue

Let's Talk About Film!

So, anyone who knows me knows that I am a filmmaker. After running my friends to the airport for their weekend away, I've spent the rest of the day with film festival preparations.

My associate and I are entering five films into the Cape Fear Independent Film Festival this year. Today was the absolute final deadline and, as with so many other things, I waited to the last possible minute. I burned my DVD last night and was… Continue

NYC Adventure

So I went to New York yesterday. It was just for a day for my sister to visit a grad school. It was a nice change though. This has been the longest I've remained in the Oh/PA/WV Ohio Valley area and I really needed a break. I was starting to develop the really awful grammar/accent of my birthplace which makes me want to die so instead of dying it's better to take a break and leave the area.

When I go places with my sister there's always an interesting reaction. We look... a lot… Continue

Short project for my sister.

Find more videos like this on Nerdfighters

It was my sisters' 27th birthday on March 3rd. I constantly am looking for new ways to make her laugh and make her birthday a memorable one. This year I, once again, lacked the money to come up with a creative and useful gift...so I decided to make this short video project instead. It features some of the landmarks around my hometown, and also a… Continue

Re: A labyrinth of suffering

Lulipop tagged me to respond to her blong entry here. I'm going to do my best but I should warn my perspectives are a bit contridictory at times coming at things from both a mental health (since that's what I do for a living), moderately religious and older sister points of view. So take from this what you will. * I'll be using 'you' as a collective term for anyone reading this.

Life is hard. If it… Continue
