Teachers Who Say Awkward Things To Students

Sup Nerdfighteria!

So I've noticed today that teachers often say really dirty things and don't realize them. I'm not talking about flat out Professor Lupin's comments to Cho Chang in A Very Potter Sequel  dirty. Oh no! I'm talking about teachers who have no idea that their comments could have a sexual connotation. What time is it? Example time:

"You're such a bad boy Brad. You're such a bad bad boy."-- This quote was from my physics teacher. She had no idea…

Final Day of Tutoring

This semester I have been tutoring students every Thursday at Isaac Bear Early College.

When I first started, I was very nervous. I thought I would end up with students who did not want to be there and would, as such, not try to learn anything. They would be unwilling to listen to anything I said. Fortunately, minus one or two exceptions, that was far from the case.

Most of the students I tutored seemed very keen to learn and to figure out how to improve their writing. I… Continue

Annoying Teachers.

Don't get me wrong, I have complete respect for most of my teachers. They deserve it, they are underpaid and have to spend the day worrying with annoying children. However, there are some teachers that I just don't think deserve my respect.

I had a math teacher who was from Brazil. He had the accent and everything. I'm sure that he knew exactly what he was talking about when he was trying to teach us, but he couldn't control the classroom. We never got anything done because…

Gifting Conundrum

So, let me start off by saying I'm a bad person and that while I haven't yet typed out any of my latest stories, I do have them written.

And now for the real purpose of this blog.

So, this being my first year of highschool, I've only had five teachers so far. However, term 1 is done in a week, and I (along with everyone else in my period four class) absolutely love my music teacher. I can't buy her a gift, because it's highschool and I have too many teachers to do that.…

Motivating Students Today

Maybe it's because I'm a nerd, but when I was in school, we were all motivated by something inside us to do well, and the generally held opinion of those who didn't do well was that they wouldn't amount to much. If I didn't understand something I read, I read it again.. and again until I thought I did understand it, and if I still couldn't figure it out, I'd know exactly what it was I DIDN'T know so I could ask someone.

As a teacher now, I face the following…

Projects are such a waste.

I hate ridiculous projects for school that have absolutely no real value to your learning. I have a psychology type class that this keeps happening for. The teacher is not a good teacher at all. Half of the classes she just talks about what her and her husband are doing on the weekend, or some experience they had. Things that don't relate at all to the information we are *ahem* 'learning'. Either that or she's talking about her friends and how they felt after they had babies and how big their… Continue

Why my life is sucky...sorta...venting session time!

-NUMBER ONE!!! okay so I am freaking pissed because I have a relatively small school district (it is two towns and our grade is still only like 200 kids) and I happen to be a freshman.. Therefore we all know each other and almost everything about each other. So I have only one close freshman friend. I have other friends and they're cool. But there is one who we really get on each other's nerves. She is a bitch and she thinks it is ADORABLE and it isn't and shes closed-minded, in-decent,… Continue

Sickness and Tulsa Tomorrow.

I am so tired. Ugh. I can't wait to go to sleep... Woke up this morning and had to drive my mom to the urgent care center, only to have her tell me (right after we got in the parking lot) that she felt much better. After that, I drove to Wal-Mart, which is incredibly empty since they're moving everything to the new super center. Dropped my mom off at home, then went and parked randomly downtown so I could call Tiff to see if she wanted to get lunch (I hate being in public for prolonged periods… Continue
