More Rambling Without A Point

It's raining really hard right now. Like, I can hear it, and normally you can't hear the rain on the roof in this apartment. We had tornado watches and threats of hail and all kinds of stuff today. Tons of fun.

For a hectic day, today went pretty well. Psychology test was easy, I got my cryptography homework pretty much done without a problem, and I helped people through the remainder of their physics homework. Now I get to relax for the weekend. Looking forward to…

In Which I Ramble About Various Things

Here I am again to dump some more relatively insignificant text into the mass that is the interwebz.

Furies of Calderon is pretty cool so far. I'm only on page 54 and have only a vague idea of what's going on, but it's pretty interesting. The person who I at first thought was the main character wasn't and now there's a different main character. I suspect the two of them will meet up soon and then everything will go to hell and they'll end up on a nation-wide journey to save…

Which Book Can I Read? It's Tuesday, Tuesday, Gotta Read Books on Tuesday...

So, I'm planning to keep this one pretty short because I don't want to stay up too much later - I have to get up a little earlier than I usually do on Wednesdays for an advising appointment and I don't want to miss it.

It turns out that neither Lauren nor I have our Lord of the Rings books up here, so I won't be reading those just yet. Instead, I have selected 3 books, one of which I will read. I'll decide here shortly when I read before going to bed. The three books are:…

The Basics of My Book - Minimal Spoilers

Almost forgot, but here I am to blog about the book I plan on writing eventually at some point if I can ever get motivated on it like I used to be. Also, I forgot to ever try to find our Lord of the Rings books tonight. While everything I have written here is accurate, I haven't taken the description very seriously, so it's pretty lighthearted. The actual novel will likely be far less so, at least as far as overriding theme goes. The book will take itself seriously.

So my…

Nano, Video Games, and Reading

And so we continue on with BEDABAS.

I actually ACCOMPLISHED something today. I made real progress on my senior project so that I can actually meet with my partner tomorrow and be able to get constructive work done. OMFG. I haven't done any of that in about 2 weeks cause I'm such a lazy bum.

I spent most of today listening to ALLCAPS music and playing Minesweeper/WoW though. The senior project progress only came in from about midnight to 2:30 am. But it was a…

Frezarion and the Case of the Unusually Large Tax Refund

It's April and I'm getting kind of excited for November - is that sad or what? NaNoWriMo's catching my eye. I've been wanting to get back into writing my book again lately but haven't taken the time to get things planned out. I've got some really good ideas and have been trying to work out the rules and everything for the world I'm creating, but it's contemplative work and I haven't spent much time on it since August.

Watched Cars today finally. Hadn't seen it yet. To be…

How Late Can Frez Make His Blogs and Still Have It Count?

This is a blog post for the sake of a blog post. It's 6 am, and I haven't gone to bed yet. I'm tempted to just say F BEDABAS, but I'm gonna stick to it anyway if I can. Which I can, in this case.

I was having some really strange problems with my Visual Studio yesterday, which meant that I wasn't able to get anything done on my senior project. I finally got it at least sorta fixed today, but it took forever to find a workaround, so I still haven't gotten anything done on it.…

Nerdy Media Topics

So, I didn't get anything done on my senior project today despite actually trying. My editor decided that I needed to register it, and after I did that, it gave an error upon opening my program - so I had to install updates for about 3 hours to try to get it to run. Not sure if it actually runs yet, it was midnight by then and I was done messing with it. Shouldn't take anywhere near that long to install some updates.

Only 10 episodes of FMA:Brotherhood left. This is seriously…

Typical Wednesday

This blog post will be devoted to a relatively in-depth description of my senior project for CIS and its planned implementation - because I have nothing more interesting to blog about and I'm tired of writing about how my day was.

The idea is that we (my partner Matt and I (yeah we're both Matts)) are creating an application that will let a user create/design levels for a 2-D Platformer game, like old-school Mario. You'll be able to test the level once you've created it and…

The Day Ends...

When I go to sleep. It's no longer technically April 5th, but I haven't gone to bed yet, so I'm still blogging for/about April 5th, despite the fact that it's been April 6th for going-on 2 hours now.

Today went better than expected overall. I skipped my first two classes to get some very refreshing sleep (didn't miss too much either, already knew what would be going on in them), and my test review over Physics that I had to give was shorter than originally expected and easier…

In The Nick of Time

Good thing I happened to decide to browse the internet for a minute before going to bed - I had completely forgotten about BEDABAS until I clicked the bookmark for the Ning.

I'm feeling kinda crappy at the moment, not really sure why, so I don't think I'll manage to muster up the brain power to write about something "philosophical" tonight. Not sure if 30 minutes would be enough time to come up with something and then do it justice in a blog post…

Epic Fail

Well, I'm a gigantic failure. Day 2 of BEDA and I've already screwed it up.

Basically, this weekend has involved lots of staying up and lots of doing the same thing all the time, so I completely spaced that yesterday was a different day than Friday. And I also sorta forgot about BEDA. Oops.

Oh well, I'll see if I can't do BEDABAS - Blog Every Day in April Besides April Second. Plus, BEDABAS sounds like a cool word.

Started playing Dragon Age:…

An Oversized Blog Post Appeared!

Knee-jerk decision: I'm doing BEDA. As of right now. Let's roll.

I don't know why I feel like doing BEDA, I haven't even blogged since before Christmas, but I do, so I'm gonna take a stab at it. Knowing me, I'll probably keep it up for a couple of weeks and then forget one or get busy and just skip it, but hey, I'll give it a shot and try to get through to the end of the entire month. I would do VEDA, but my video equipment is really sub-par and I don't have enough experience…

Bored, Made a Blog

So, finals are almost over. I've got just the one take-home final for Operating Systems left, that and a few tidbits from projects in Databases and Operating Systems. Probably won't be 100% done until Friday, but it should be a fairly light load over that time compared to how everything's been lately. I didn't get home until 5 am last night, slept for 3 hours, then got up to give a presentation on the project I'd been working on until 5 am. One of my group-mates almost missed our…

My Life of Late (and in the Near Future)

So, here I am, writing a blog post for the first time in over a month, to report the results of my NaNoWriMo attempt! I am less than proud to note that I failed spectacularly, cranking out 10,000 words in the first 6 days (aka staying on pace) and then never touching the novel again. This was mostly due to a large amount of school work for a couple of weeks which prevented me outright from working on the novel, as doing so would have immediately produced sub-standard grades, as I was working… Continue

Hunger Games Review Delay

It's gonna be a while before my review of the Hunger Games Trilogy gets put up here. I've just decided to do NaNoWriMo like I've been meaning to since I learned about it.

That means that I'll be devoting all of my typing time to that for the next month and not blog posts. I'll try to tweet my progress now and again, but with both 1667 words per day and school work, I doubt my fingers will have much left in them for sharing my (fairly mundane) life and (wtfe) opinions on books with the… Continue

Paper Towns

This review will probably not be as good as it should be because I'm having a really hard time getting myself un-stuck from The Hunger Games. The delay in the review is because I was busy reading all 3 of them and going psycho. I'll do my best to remember details from Paper Towns, but Hunger Games is really good at occupying my thoughts. And again, I'll do my best to avoid spoilers, though that may be rather difficult.

Paper Towns was my favorite of John's three (so far) solo-books and… Continue

Looking for Alaska

On to the second of John's books that I'll be reviewing, and the one that wasn't my favorite, but neither was it my least favorite, Looking for Alaska.

To me, this was a somewhat difficult decision between LfA and PT (lol, the initialism for Paper Towns is the same as toilet paper). They were both excellent books, and to me both significantly more stand-out than AAoK was, but of course… Continue

An Abundance of Katherines

OK, so, I'm going to try to keep these relatively short. I'll do An Abundance of Katherines first, then Looking for Alaska, then Paper Towns, since that's the inverse order of my preference for them. It's also worth noting that I finished An Abundance of Katherines on Tuesday and went out Tuesday night… Continue

Lamest 3-day Weekend Ever

It's not like the weekend even, like, sucked or anything. It was just incredibly boring. The highlights of my weekend were completing a programming assignment for my programming languages class and having Buffalo Wild Wings takeout for dinner two nights ago. Apart from those things, I've spent the majority of the weekend being incredibly lazy and trying to decide what to spend my time doing. The default choices have been browsing the internet, reading *insert John Green book here*, or playing… Continue
